East Bengal finally put their derby ghosts to rest, as they managed to gain a point from today's fixture after losing the last two, although they might have been disappointed, as their superior possession could not be effectively translated into goals eventually drawing 1-1 with the Mariners.

The Mohun Bagan camp however were certainly not happy at losing the opportunity to beat their bitter rivals yet again, and make it three times a row in this season.

Prasanta Banerjee was clearly fuming at a decisive call from the referee which got Trevor Morgan's men the goal.

According to him the opposition goal scored by Robin Singh was a clear offside.

" He was hundred per cent offside. I do not know why the referee did not give the offside decision. Even the striker himself had stopped and paused en route to the goal. "

This led to his suggestion about the involvement of experienced foreign referees referring clearly to the expert handling of the last derby encounter in the Calcutta Football League by Asian Referee of the Year Ravshan Irmatov.

"We should bring in foreign referees for matches of this magnitude."

On today's quality of referring at display he said

" I would not say he was biased, but he certainly made a wrong call "

He also brushed aside the suggestion that Tolgay Ozbey's disallowed goal was actually legal.

" He was also clearly offside. Even more Tolgay should have been booked "

Prasanta Banerjee however said that the duo of Jose Barreto and Hudson Lima would miss the next match with injuries. He had this to say regarding the return of SAFF Player of the Tournament, Sunil Chhetri.

" He has come back after a long injury layoff. We must give him time to find his rhythm back."
