James Moga has lashed back at Khalid Jamil after they were involved in an exchange of words in Monday's I-League encounter between Sporting Clube de Goa and Mumbai FC.
Jamil had complained of being 'abused in Arabic' by Moga, an accusation which the Flaming Oranje striker has categorically denied.
While the home side's coach Ekendra Singh immediately sprung to the defense of his player, Moga told to Goal.com that it was the MFC coach who was in the wrong.
"You know what, we are leading. I cannot go for the coach and speak to him badly, but the coach was the one who came for me because he was angry," said Moga.
The SC Goa striker went on to explain, "He (Jamil) speak with me badly in Arabic. He speak about my religion, because I'm like Arab and I'm Christian, and he speak about my mother. That's why I was so angry.
"I don't why he's speaking like this. He say that I'm devil, 'shaitan,' because I'm Christian. I don't know what's going on," he added.
James Moga recalled the incidence to around the time when Sporting scored the third goal against Khalid Jamil's team.
"You see goal number three. I go with the ball, I cut the ball, the defender fell down. When I shoot the ball, the ball come for Kalu. Kalu shoot the ball and then come for Mackroy. Mackroy shoot and score.
"At that time, when I cut the ball, I think, he (Jamil) wanted fair play as he expected me to kick the ball outside when the defender fell down. But the ball is not with me, it's with Kalu.
"Then he said that I'm a cheater because I didn't shoot the ball outside," James Moga narrated to Goal.com.
"I told him, 'Coach, the ball is not with me, the ball is with Kalu. If you want to shout, you shout to Kalu.' He said 'No, you Christian, you are devil, you Sudanese.'
The 28-year-old continued, "I told him 'Look, I didn't speak about India bad. Don't speak about my country bad' and then I started to speak with him badly."
Moga also confirmed that he had no previous confrontation with Jamil, "Before that, we are friends. I know him before the game. We speak in Arabic 'Hi, how are you?' Before the match we were talking normally."
The accused player further stressed that there could have been no other motive for him to confront the opponents coach when his side was leading 4-0.
"Look, mentally, I'm leading 4-0. How I can go to the opponents coach to speak with him badly? Already, I'm winning 4-0.
"Here in India, I'm sorry because I'm gonna say this, they only defend their people because they are Indian. I know that they will make me guilty because I'm a foreigner.
"If you bring anyone on the scene, I'm leading 4-0. I'm so happy because I scored and I'm leading 4-0. Why will I go and speak with somebody badly? If I'm losing, maybe I will speak badly. But I'm not losing, I'm winning."
Ekendra Singh was forced to bring off the agitated player with the Sporting officials trying to calm him down.
"Because coach Ekendra came, I start to speak English and he speak Arabic. I was trying to translate.
"The good thing the coach did was to change me because maybe I could get red card. I'm so proud because my coach brought me out so that I can play next match.
"If the match is finished, then people may talk, but I'm already on the field. How I can come outside to speak with the coach badly if I didn't hear something badly.
"For me, I didn't do anything bad to anyone. I don't like somebody to speak about my religion. I don't like somebody to speak about my Mom. I couldn't sleep until morning because I was so angry.
"If he says I start to speak with him badly, then let him come in my face. I can speak with him in his face, but I'm sure that he doesn't have confidence to speak in my face.
"This is not my country. If I come in somebody else' country, I have to give him respect. I start to play as professional when I was 18. Nothing happened to me like this [anywhere else]. Only in India. Why?
"Any country I go, I give them respect. I like to laugh. I like to joke with anyone. I don't like to fight with anyone."
Moga however was pleased with his side's win after losing the away tie to Mumbai FC and believes that Jamil had intended to have him sent off.
"Thank God we won! He's (Jamil) so angry that we beat him badly - 5-0! I'm sure, if I was there on the field, we win by seven-or-eight goals.
"He mean it. He mean to make me mad so that I cannot play. Whatever I say, nobody will believe. They will believe in the coach because he is Indian. I'm winning. James is leading 4-0. How I can go and fight with the coach?"
"Let him (Khalid) come at any place and we can talk. Let the media also come and then they will hear whose story is right or wrong," Moga signed off.
