Sporting Clube de Goa coach Ekendra Singh feels that their latest signing Park Jae-Hyun needs time to settle after the 31-year-old made his I-League debut against Mohun Bagan on Thursday.

"He (Park) is our newly recruited boy. This was his first match and he is still getting to grips with the ground. I think he can better football in the future with his experience. Within three days [at the club] he's playing a competitive match," said Singh.

Moving his attention towards his side's back-to-back victories in the second phase of the league, Sporting's coach termed the 2-1 win over Mohun as a "turning point."

"To play a big team like Mohun Bagan is not an easy task. That's why I had told my boys that if we can win against Mohun Bagan, then we are better than them."

"I feel this is a pretty good turning point for our team," he said. "My boys played well. We won our last match which was away against Pailan Arrows."

The 54-year-old went on to praise Keita Boubacar for his top performance which earned him the man of the match award.

"Keita played a big role in our win and to win two consecutive man of the match awards shows that he played well."

Singh however raised injury concerns over his team's poor performance in the latter half of the first round of matches.

"After six-or-seven rounds, we had so many injured players. Now some players are coming back from injury. About ten players were injured. Boboi [Singh] got a fracture, I think, in the collision with Odafa [Okolie]," he said.

He added: "In the last match against Mohun Bagan, in the first half of the season and a few other matches as well, I fielded four under-20 players."

"This year we might have a few problems, but in another two-to-three years my team will mature," Singh concluded.
