The need for a striker has impelled the Goan club to rope in the attacking player who played for top clubs of the K-League...
Sporting Clube de Goa CEO Victor Fernandes has revealed that their new signing Park Jae-Hyun could face Mohun Bagan in the round 15 I-League match on Thursday.
"With all transfer and registration formalities completed, Park is likely to debut in Indian football with Sporting in the match against Mohun Bagan," said the 55-year-old.
Fernandes however admitted that it will depend on the coaching staff if the player will be start the match or not.
"I'm not sure if he (Park) will be in the starting eleven. It depends on the coaches, but he is included in the 18-member squad."
Fernandes went to talk about his club's recent drop of form and placed his hopes in the South Korean striker to ease their vows.
"We earned 12 points in our first six matches and then slumped to only two points in the last seven matches of the first round of the I-League.
"We hope that Park will add the much needed spark to Sporting's attack which has tend to misfire after a good start."
Park Jae-Hyun, who has been training with the Panjim-based club from 15 January, will be filling the foreign quota in the Asian player segment for the Goan outfit.
The 31-year-old previously tried to break into European Football by getting a contract with Greek club Ethnikos Piraeus before last playing for Yongin City FC in his homeland.
