In a major relief to East Bengal, the I-League Core Committee, which met on Wednesday at the Football House in Delhi, allowed the club to replace Alan Gow with another foreign recruit.
Trevor Morgan’s side had petitioned for this special permission since Alan Gow was sidelined with injury. The Scottish attacker also largely underperformed when fit.
Amongst the other decisions which the Core Committee, which comprises of AIFF Vice-Presidents Mr. Subrata Dutta and Mr. Ankur Datta, I-League CEO Sunando Dhar alongwith the representatives of all the I-League clubs, took was to unanimously decide that there would be some changes made to the I-League fixtures list, due to the forthcoming AFC Challenge Cup.
Another fixture related change was to keep a gap of five extra days between the preliminary rounds and final round of I-League division I to accommodate the completion of Goa Pro League.
It was also decided by the members to refer the complaints regarding Mr. Alemao Churchill’s verbal assault on Goa Football Association over referees as well as the case of the Match Commissioner and East Bengal player’s (Tolgay Ozbey) altercation with Goa stadium authority personnel to the disciplinary committee.
In the last piece of business for the day, the committee also reached to a consensus that monetary fine would be imposed on cases where LAW 4, which deals with the Players' equipment, of Laws of the games have been breached.
