In another open and unpredictable round of the I-League, East Bengal, Pune FC, Prayag United and defending champions Salgaocar SC, all romped to a 2-1 win while Chirag United Kerala cruised to a 2-0 win against Mumbai FC. It was a bad day for giants like Dempo SC and Mohun Bagan, who alongwith Mumbai FC, Air India and Shillong Lajong had to suffer a defeat. HAL Bangalore and Sporting Clube de Goa played out a 2-2 draw which helped neither team while the Churchill Brothers and Pailan Arrows game was postponed.

In Kolkata, East Bengal saw off the spirited challenge of Air India, as a impressive Penn Orji double helped Trevor Morgan's side to somehow clinch the three points.

While in Goa, Dempo SC's recent poor run continued as they suffered a loss against a solid Prayag United outfit. The loss however did not stop the Goan side from retaining the top spot in the league table.

Their fellow Goans, Salgaocar SC though enjoyed some better luck against Shillong Lajong. Having been reduced to ten men, Karim Bencherifa's side showed the resilience of last season to hold on to all three points which helps them climb into the top half of the table.

Pune FC made a brilliant comeback after going down 1-0 to Mohun Bagan, as they staged a dramatic recovery to stun the Mariners.

At the same venue on the next day, Chirag United Kerala proved that there still is some life in their campaign as they romped to a deserved win over fellow relegation contenders Mumbai FC.

HAL Bangalore too gave their long suffering fans some scant consolation, as they doubled their season's points tally with a draw against Sporting Clube de Goa. The 2-2 draw was definately not the result Ekendra Sen's men were looking forward to, as they tried to snap out of, what is now a seven game winless streak.

The game between the youngsters of Pailan Arrows and Churchill Brothers meanwhile was postponed, denying the Goans the possibility of moving to the top of the table at the mid-way stage.
