I-League: Kolkata Clubs React To JCT’s Disbandment From Competitive Football
Goal.com took reactions from top officials of the Kolkata clubs following JCT's decision to disband their football team from competitive action.

It was earlier hinted and now it has become a reality as JCT Mills has disbanded their football team from participating in any competitive action.
In a bid to know how the Kolkata clubs feel about it, Goal.com spoke to top officials from the big clubs in the City of Joy.
Mohun Bagan AC General Secretary Mr. Anjan Mitra said, “It was inevitable and we somehow had a feeling that JCT might not be interested to run their team following the relegation. They will be remembered for their contribution to Indian football forever.”
One of Kolkata’s oldest clubs, who are now struggling to get back into I-League, Mohammedan Sporting are also shocked at the way JCT winded up their activities. Senior club official Mr. Mohammad Qamaruddin was taken aback.
“More than a club they were a social example. They were the only team from North India and we have so many memories about them. They produced many fine talents, who are making headlines all over the football scene in India.”
East Bengal’s Debabrata Sarkar felt that corporate clubs will continue to fall out if the AIFF doesn’t wake up from their slumber, “First it was Mahindra and now its JCT, if this is how things continue then we may see other clubs following the same route too. I believe its high time for AIFF to manage the league seriously.”
However all the three Kolkata clubs agreed that fans are still the number one motivation for them to continue their football operations despite very few investors and other difficulties.
