East Bengal retained the third position on the table after a late thrashing of Air India at the Shahu Maharaj stadium, Kolhapur, in their I-League round 20 match on Monday.

The Airmen could have hoped to cause the Kolkata giants an upset and do some good to their own standing in the league, but a late hat-trick by Aussie striker Tolgay Ozbey broke the suspense in favour of the title contenders.

In a six-goal thriller played at the Nehru stadium in Goa, relegation threathened side ONGC came back thrice to hold Churchill Brothers in the 20th round of the I-League match.

The home side took the lead through their Liberian striker Boima Karpeh in the 20th minute, and it wasn't until the second half that saw the rest of the goals decide the result of the match.

ONGC's Badmus Babatunde scored the equaliser at the change of ends only to see Bineesh Balan retain the lead for Churchill a minute later.

N.D. Opara scored the second equaliser for the Mumbai side which was once again taken away by Nigerian goal machine Odafa Okolie, until Babatunde's late strike earned his side a valuable point.
