I-League: East Bengal Gets A New Sponsor
Red and Gold brigade’s plans for upcoming season boosted with new investors...
The Bengali new year seems have brought in the right ingredients at East Bengal. The players gave all their fans a gift by clinching their first I-league victory in seven games by defeating Mumbai FC on the auspicious occasion of “Nababarsho”.And in another set of good news for the club, a local corporate company named 'Tower Group', signed an understanding with the Red and Gold officials and have clinched a co-sponsorship deal for the 2010-11 season.
Tower Group. which is a company based in Kolkata, is working extensively in sectors like Pharmacy, Insurance, IT and Education. With this co-sponsorship deal East Bengal club’s financial worries have now diminished.
Earlier on, the club faced a major financial crisis after having invested on players like Jan Berger, Omar Sebastian and Ramez Dayoub, who had to be released after buying out their contract.
Speaking on the occasion, a representative from Tower Group said, “It is a proud moment for our company to be associated with one of the major brands in Kolkata and Indian football. We hope that our company has a fruitful co-operation and understanding with East Bengal.”
