I - League Viva Kerala vs Dempo(Mango Peel)
A first half strike from Viva Kerala striker Rueben Senyo separated the two teams. I-League leaders Dempo SC will return home empty handed after suffering their first outside Goa.

The ultimate goal came in the 42nd minute when Nishad’s cross was headed home by man of the match Senyo.

Viva Kerala played attacking football from the very start but their first real chance to score came in the 24th minute when K Aneesh dribbled past Creson Antao and took a shot which was inches wide of the target.

Minutes later Ghanaian Rueben Senyo came very close to scoring when his header off Rahul’s cross narrowly missed the target.

Viva coach AM Sreedharan was forced to bring on Nishad in place of Anish, who suffered an ankle injury.

Nishad’s inclusion literally changed the game for Viva as they started enjoying long spell of attacks.

The breakthrough came in the 42nd minute when a combined effort from Rahul and Nishad saw the latter provide a final ball to Rueben who headed home the crucial goal to give Viva a deserved lead.

Dempo had a terrible first half as they created very few chances and looked second best.

Second half was almost similar to the first as Viva continued to enjoy the majority of the possession.

Things changed slightly when Armando Colaco brought on his dependable Brazilian playmaker Beto in place of Indian international Clifford Miranda, who suffered a knock.

Sunil Chhetri and Ranty Martins started to look more influential and did have a few chances but none of them were converted.

The Viva defence were having a good game with the partnership of Charles Dzisah and Bello Rassaq looking very strong.

The home side held on for three valuable points. It lifts them up to ninth spot and are now five points above the drop zone.

Dempo's second defeat of the season won't cost them pole position for this round at least but their lead at the top might be reduced if the likes of Mahindra and Mohun Bagan win their matches.
