The home side got off to a flying start as young striker Ajay Singh found the back of the net with a powerful left footed strike in the sixth minute.
It was his first goal of the season and it gave JCT the momentum to dominate the rest of the game.
Sporting were struggling to create chances but went into the halftime break only one goal behind as the hosts couldn’t increase their advantage.
Twelve minutes after the restart, Baljit Singh Sahni scored the all important second goal with a fine finish from the eighteen yard box.
Sahni was playing his first game after recovering from an injury which he suffered in a bike accident in November.
But the 23 year old showed no rustiness with his finishing and is now the highest Indian scorer with seven goals.
Sporting couldn’t comeback into the game as JCT held on for three valuable points. The side from Ludhiana are now seven points above the relegation zone while the Flaming Oranje remain rock bottom.
