The I-League Committee Scheduled To Meet Later Today

It’s meeting time...

It’s New Year and time to look at things with a fresh perspective. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has called for two meetings, which are scheduled later in the day.

The I-League Committee is set to meet in the evening, wherein the venues of the matches would expectedly be one of the key discussions. Goa’s Fatorda Stadium has been in the news for the wrong reasons with the field being dug as the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) expected a cricket match to be allotted to the state, which never actualized.

In this scenario, it’s a toss between Tilak Maidan at Vasco or Duler Stadium of Mapusa to host the upcoming I-League matches in Goa.

With hooligan activities at their best at the Barasat, Kolkata in Friday’s game between Mohun Bagan and Churchill Brothers, it will certainly be of interest as to what the general body reacts to it, after receiving the report from the match commissioner.

Meanwhile, there is a meeting with the secretaries of state associations wherein the focus would be on the revised structure of the I-League, programme for the national team, licensing criteria for the clubs to participate in the AFC Champions League and the calendar for the year 2010.
