I-League: New East Bengal Coach De Ridder Believes His Squad Has The Quality
East Bengal's new coach gave his views on the 1-0 victory...
Watching a team he is to take over, Philippe De Ridder believes that there is enough quality amongst the Red and Gold's but they need some organisation to get things right.
"It's a good feeling to see them win. I see that there is quality in the team. Maybe after three, four or five weeks, this side can be competitive. It needs some restructuring and organisation," said the Belgian.
Under assistant coach Tushar Rakshit, the team has won two consecutive away games which has seen the team have nine points under their kitty now.
"We haven't played well but we have won two games now. For this, the credit solely goes to the players who have fought in every match.
"In the second half, our defence and midfield were a little disjointed but we'll work on it in the coming days," said Rakshit.
The Red and Gold's haven't ruled themselves out of the championship contention as they believe that it's a matter of a few good results and getting into a good rhythm.
"The I-League is very open and if we continue to improve, we are still in it."
East Bengal next faces Shillong on the 12th of this month in Kolkata.
