I-League: Fixture List Isn't Favouring Us - Chirag Coach Subrata Bhattacharya
Bhattacharya wasn't pleased with his side's defensive mistakes...
Chirag United drew their second consecutive game in the I-League, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom-of-the-league Sporting Clube de Goa.
After the game, Chirag coach Subrata Bhattacharya spoke to the press, and expressed his disappointment with the result.
He said, "We missed a lot of chances in the game. Defensively we have to work as we are conceding goals through silly mistakes. I am not satisfied but we are still on top with Dempo which is not bad at all."
The Chirag coach repeated what he had mentioned earlier, that the congested fixture list was beginning to take its toll on his side, and wasn't allowing them time to work on their flaws.
"I am not getting time during this hectic schedule to work on our mistakes. I hope that we do well at the back in the next game against Salgaocar", he said.
Sporting Clube de Goa have sensationally slipped to the bottom of the league table this season, whereas they were at the top for most of last season. Bhattacharya attributed this mainly to the fact that the Goa club has lost many of its first team players.
He explained, "From last year, they have changed a lot of players and hence there has been a mini slump."
Chirag United are joint top with twelve points, although Dempo have a better goal difference at this juncture. Sporting, though, remain bottom with two points from five games.
