Viva Kerala take on Sporting Club de Goa in what will be a bottom of the table clash in Kochi tomorrow, 29th of October. Both sides will be looking to get the better if the other as it will be seen as a good opportunity to get some much needed points on the board.
Goal.com had a chat with A. Shreedharan, coach of Viva Kerala, who denied that his squad were low on morale.
“No at all. Even though we haven’t managed a point yet, my players still have self belief. And that is because the results don’t throw a fair light on our performances. We have had good games and dominated for majority of times but failed to score.
"I think its mainly our conversion rate that is our downfall. Our defence as well has been decent but a fraction of a second when our players lose concentration really costs. We need to get the minor things right.”
Their next opponents Sporting Clube de Goa themselves haven’t had a great start to the season, and are still without a win. On being asked whether it was the best opportunity for Viva to break the duck, the coach said they were not considering anyone weaker than others.
“For us every team is just as strong. In this league anyone can beat anyone so we will not be considering Sporting easy for a minute.”
But he did concede that being the home team they probably had the upper hand. “We are at home and that might play to our advantage. And we must play well at home to keep our supporters happy. After all they are the priority. If we do well in our home games, things will be fine.”
Viva Kerala take on Sporting Club de Goa at Kozhikode as both sides look to register their first win of the season.
