The Interviews For The Post Of I-League CEO To Be Held In November
At last, some good news...
The All India Football Federation
(AIFF) is to conduct interviews for the post of I-League’s Chief Executive
Officer (CEO) on the third of next month.
The interviews have been up in the air ever since July when the candidates were shortlisted back in July and further cut down in September to four.
The four men in contention for the post are AIFF’s Director of Competitions, Anil Kamath, Sunando Dhar from Kolkata, former Mahindra United coach, Harish Rao and former CEO of Motherwell FC, Ian Stillie.
The interviews shall be conducted by the Indian FA president, Praful Patel and his trusted lieutenants, who are members of the Emergency Committee.
India national coach Bob Houghton has been vocal on having a CEO for the I-League who could work with the clubs and get them to improve their standards.
“I hope that the I-League CEO (who is to be appointed) will have some executive powers whereby he ensures that the clubs are involved in developing the players,” Houghton had earlier told Goal.com.
He further stated that the I-League must be run by the Indian FA with the I-League’s CEO organising it.
According to the Indian FA, the I-League CEO will have the overall responsibility for administering all competitions for the professional clubs and for designing and implementing programmes to develop the professional clubs.
The dates for the post of AIFF general secretary are yet to be announced.
