Churchill Win Individual Honours
Churchill Brothers may have lost the Super Cup to Mohun Bagan but the Goan side swept all the individual honours of the season.
Prolific striker Odafa Okolie was named the Best Player of the I-League and also won the Golden Boot for his 26 goals, a record on Indian soil.
Gouramangi Singh won the Best Defender award while midfielder Kalu Nnanna was the Best Midfielder.
In what appeared to be a surprise choice, Churchill custodian Arindam Bhattacharya was honoured as the Best Goalkeeper despite not having started most of the matches and even snubbed in their final I-League game where his loyalties were questioned. Neither did Churchill Brothers have the best defensive record.
The Winners:
Golden Ball and Boot: Odafa Okolie
Best Coach: Zoran Djordjevic
Best Midfielder: Kalu Nnanna
Best Defender: Gouramangi Singh
Best Goalkeeper: Arindam Bhattacharya
Fair Play Trophy: JCT
