I-League: Churchill Alemao Has Paid The Fine - Alberto Colaco
Churchill Alemao has paid the fine levied on him by the Disciplinary Committee of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for showing dissent to match commissioner J.P.Singh after the high profile Goan derby between Churchill Brothers and Dempo SC in the first phase of the I-League.
The club patron of the Goan side verbally abused the match commissioner and the referees after he thought that his side was undone by the match officials. This was after the derby ended with a 3-3 scoreline with an injury time winner scored by Bineesh Balan was judged off-side which miffed Alemao.
The Disciplinary Committee headed by Mr.N.A.Khan had levied a fine of Rs.50, 000 which Alemao had publicly refused to pay-up.
Though it is believed by many that the club patron hasn’t yet paid his dues, AIFF general secretary Alberto Colaco begs to differ.
When questioned as to whether Churchill Alemao had paid the fine imposed by the Disciplinary Committee, Alberto Colaco said,” Mr. Churchill Alemao has paid the fine.”
