I-League: Churchill Decision Not Out For Now
The Chairman of the Appeal Committee Advocate Vijay Panjwani met the representative from Churchill Brothers SC Macario Rodrigues on Sunday and after discussions with his fellow committee members a decision on the same would be taken.
Churchill Alemao, club patron of Churchill Brothers SC, has been under the scanner after abusing the match commissioner and referees following the 3-3 draw against defending champions Dempo SC.
The Disciplinary Committee imposed a fine of Rs.50, 000 on Alemao but the latter refused to pay up and has challenged the decision branding it ‘capricious’.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) general secretary Alberto Colaco said,” The Chairman of the Appeal Committee heard the representative of Churchill Brothers. He has formulated his opinion. This will be circulated to the other members of the Appeal Committee for their opinion.
“We will inform all concerned after the decision is taken.”
