The Portugal midfielder says the club are firmly focused on securing Champions League qualification after their disappointing 1-1 draw with Montpellier on Friday
Claudio Ranieri's men were earmarked as candidates to challenge for Paris Saint-Germain's crown at the start of the season, but Friday's 1-1 draw with Montpellier means they could sit five points adrift of the leaders by the end of the weekend.
Moutinho, however, maintains that Monaco's objective is to return to Europe's elite competition in their first season back in the French top flight.
"We're not satisfied with the draw," he told BeIN Sport. "We knew Montpellier would play well because they were in front of their home fans.
"For now, the goal remains that we are trying to secure second place. The objective is a place in the Champions League, because the title is just a dream for everyone."
PSG currently sit two points clear of Monaco ahead of their encounter with Ajaccio on Saturday.
