The Greens were painted blue as Robin Singh steals a game which featured a couple of penalties at the death.Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.
|TOP: GILBERT OLIVERA
The midfielder was the heart and soul of every move for his team. Olivera was superb in the middle of the park. He emphasized the importance of creativity for his side and was a constant threat with great passes and runs from deep while helping out the defense as well. Most importantly, he won the penalty and also tucked it away. A good performance and was unlucky to end up on the losing side.
|FLOP: MATHEW FOSCHINI
Poor in attack despite being deployed on the left to aid the team in the final third. His crosses were disappointing overall. None of them found their intended targets and on a few occasions when he found himself in ample space, he failed to provide an end product. A lot more was expected of him.
