Les Parisiens laid siege to the Ajaccio goal but Fabrizio Ravanelli's side escaped Parc des Princes with a point, much to the amazement of the former France coach

Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc was left baffled as his side failed to pick up their first win of the season after a 1-1 draw with Ajaccio.

The Ligue 1 champions peppered their opponent’s goal, amassing over 30 shots on the night, but still had to settle for a point, much to the frustration of their new coach.

“We're not ready yet, we knew that,” Blanc told reporters.

“The real disappointment is losing two points tonight. Paris deserved to win.”

Blanc’s side fell behind for the second league game in succession and admitted that this is a worrying trend that needs to be addressed.

“Ajaccio and Montpellier took advantage of their opportunity to open the scoring. This is one opportunity too many.

“Even if we didn’t make the best of starts though, our first half was not bad.”

It was left to substitute Edinson Cavani to rescue a point for les Parisiens but Blanc admitted that he was reluctant to even bring the Uruguayan on, admitting that he is still some way off creating the perfect partnership with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“I had planned not to play Cavani all match. We took a risk, but we did well to keep it on the ground," he added.

“The challenge will be to combine Zlatan and Edinson. If we get there, we will score many goals.”
