The Sweden international feels the Ligue 1 giants should be proud of their performance against Barca and believes they will come back stronger next yearZlatan Ibrahimovic believes that Paris Saint-Germain showed they are a force to be reckoned with in Europe in the Champions League quarter-final tie against Barcelona.
Many expected the Blaugrana to qualify for the semi-finals at the expense of PSG without any noteworthy problems, yet the Liga leaders only narrowly escaped elimination as they progressed on the away-goals rule after a 2-2 draw at the Parc des Princes and a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou on Wednesday.
"We put in a great performance and we can be proud of ourselves," Ibrahimovic was quoted as saying by L'Equipe.
"The team showed that we have what it takes to compete with the best teams in the world. We put in two superb performances and did not deserve to go out.
"A lot of people thought that we would lose heavily, but we gave a good account of ourselves. We showed that this team is no joke. We earned respect and I hope we come back stronger next year."
Paris Saint-Germain resume Ligue 1 action on Saturday when they take on Troyes.
