Ganso is dedicated to his recovery, says Rogerio Ceni
The veteran shot stopper is impressed with his new team-mate's attitude, as the international midfielder bids to come back stronger after an injury lay-off
Sao Paulo goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni says that Paulo Henrique Ganso is three weeks away from returning to first-team action, and has spoken about the player's dedication to his rehabilitation. The Brazil international moved to Tricolor Paulista for the biggest fee ever paid between two Brazilian clubs after the 23-year-old decided to leave former club Santos, and the player seems determined to prove himself at his new club upon his return.
Having been sidelined for months, Ganso is now close to recovery after long-term knee and thigh problems.
"He surprises me with his dedication, he is a really dedicated man," explained Ceni, speaking to reporters.
"I see Ganso every day in Reffis [the training ground]. I believe that the injury is healed, which is very important, and now it's all about physical preperation.
"I believe that in two or three weeks, who knows, he might be in some condition to play. If he can play in time, he will come with the team for the final stretch of the Copa Sudamericana," he said.
