The 21-year-old’s representative claims speculation surrounding the Netherlands international moving away from Rotterdam has no truth to it despite reported interest from clubs
Wessel Weezenberg stressed the midfielder has no reason to leave Rotterdam and claimed he enjoys running out in front of Feyenoord’s fans.
But Clasie has been linked with a move to both Premier League and Serie A clubs, who see the defensive midfielder as a good prospect, having impressed for both club and country recently.
“I still think it is rumours. Jordy is 21-years-old, he plays at a club with great fans and plays every week in an impressive stadium,” Weezenberg told Calciomercato.
“He is now developing rapidly, he plays every week and is now in the Dutch national team. There is really no reason to leave.
“The club will not want to let him go. He is one of the most popular players of Feyenoord, a departure this winter? I think not.”
The former Excelsior man has two international caps to his name and was named as a stand-by for Euro 2012 by former Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk.
