South Korea going for victory in final Olympic group game
The Taeguk Warriors only need a point from their final group game against Group B's bottom side Gabon, but their coach has insisted they won't play for a draw
South Korean coach Hong Myung-Bo says his side will approach their final London Olympic group game against Gabon on Wednesday with the intention of victory. The Koreans need only a point to qualify for the final eight of the tournament after recording a 2-1 victory over Switzerland and a goalless draw with Mexico in their opening two group games.
However, Hong insisted they wouldn't play for a draw against Gabon.
"We aren't going to approach this game passively, assuming that we can qualify for the quarterfinals with a draw," Hong told reporters.
Mexico are currently top of Group B with four points alongside Korea, while Switzerland and Gabon have only one point each so far.
