A price tag of €15 million would not prove an obstacle for the Italian and Catalan giants, who are reportedly the prime candidates to sign the 17-year-old River starInterest in River Plate wonderkid Lucas Ocampos continues to grow, as reports from Argentina suggest that Roma and Barcelona are favourites to complete a lucrative deal for the teenage sensation.
The 17-year-old midfielder has been the revelation of the Millo's Nacional B season, scoring six times in the 24 appearances he has made since debuting against Chacarita Juniors in August 2011.
Ocampos is valued at €15 million by River, but according to Clarin the figure is unlikely to put off either Barcelona or Roma from making an approach in the next transfer window.
"We are getting calls for Ocampos every day," a director of the Nunez institution told the newspaper on Tuesday.
The same source affirmed that, despite River's determination to keep their young star, if the right price can be negotiated a deal could be struck.
"If they have the money, let's see them put it on the table."
The club hold 50 per cent of Lucas' contract rights, with an investment group owning 35% and a further 15 belonging to first team Quilmes.
