Former England coach Fabio Capello has dismissed speculation that he has met with Anzhi Makhachkala officials.

Russian sources claimed on Sunday that Capello had flown to Moscow to begin negotiations with the ambitious Russian club.

"I am simply in Saint-Moritz," he told L'Equipe. "The only appointment I have is next Monday [February 20], in Bologne, to receive an award."

However, speculation that Capello will take over at Anzhi has intensified after Yuri Krasnozhan stepped down as coach on Monday, just two months into the job.

The Italian coach is currently out of work after quitting England last week, following the Football Association's decision to strip John Terry of the national captaincy.
