Jaroslav DROBNY

| Bayern Munich threw everything they had at Jaroslav Drobny's goal, but the Czech goalkeeper held firm. He made a couple phenomenal saves from Franck Ribery and Thomas Muller, and kept his cool as the visitors laid siege to his goal. |

| Drobny had plenty of support from his defence, and Dennis Diekmeier and Heiko Westermann were the most prominent figures on the day. The pair did extremely well to limit the effectiveness of Franck Ribery and Mario Gomez, respectively. Dortmund were the only team in the top six not to be held to a draw in round 20, and Mats Hummels deserves plenty of credit. While many of his team-mates struggled in frigid conditions, the Germany international had an individually strong game, and many times bailed out partner Neven Subotic. In Freiburg, newcomer Michael Lumb starred for SCF, assisting the opener and defending very well in a 2-2 draw with Bremen. |

Petr JIRACEK Wolfsburg TOTW Apps: 1 |
Simon ROLFES Leverkusen TOTW Apps: 1 |

| Before Wolfsburg's scoreless draw with Gladbach, Petr Jiracek earned high praise from Felix Magath, a rarity from the coach. And the Czech midfielder delivered with a very strong performance in the centre of the park. He has adapted very quickly to play in Germany, and could be a regular fixture in Wolfsburg's team for quite some time. In Leverkusen, Simon Rolfes was the best player on the pitch against Stuttgart, and was very unlucky that his side were denied a win at the death. The captain distributed the ball with aplomb, and delivered a critical opening goal early in the second half. |

Chinedu OBASI Schalke TOTW Apps: 1 |
Shinji KAGAWA Dortmund TOTW Apps: 3 |

| Schalke only managed a draw on Saturday, but Chinedu Obasi had another great performance for the Royal Blues. After a quiet first half, the former Hoffenheim man scored an equaliser to earn a point, and was always looking for the ball. He neither scored nor assisted, but Shinji Kagawa was Dortmund's sparkplug in their 2-0 win over Nurnberg. The Japanese star saved a goal with a header off the line, and delivered some sublime passes. He failed to score when given the chance late on, but the saved attempt rebounded for Lucas Barrios to finish. |

Mohamed ZIDAN Mainz TOTW Apps: 1 |
Claudio PIZARRO Bremen TOTW Apps: 2 |
||||
| In his first game since re-joining Mainz, it took Mohamed Zidan just a quarter hour to find the net with a goal that was as much for his former team, Dortmund, as his current. The Egyptian attacker's movement off the ball was brilliant, and he gave Thomas Tuchel's side a dangerous quality they have sorely lacked this season. The most effective striker of the matchday was Claudio Pizarro, who grows older with each passing year, but refuses to fade away. The Peruvian scored both of his team's goals on Sunday as Bremen drew 2-2 in Freiburg. |
