Jermaine Jenas Wants To Banish Tottenham Hotspur's Defeat To Arsenal From Memory
Midfielder claims 3-0 loss was just a bad day at the office.
Tottenham Hotspur's midfielder Jermaine Jenas believes that his side need to forget their derby defeat to Arsenal on Saturday and continue looking forward.
Spurs, who have failed to beat their North London rivals in the Premier League this decade, were swept aside in a 3-0 loss at the Emirates.
But Jenas believes that the display was just a blip in an otherwise solid start to the season that has led them to fifth spot after 11 games.
"We are disappointed that we didn't give a good account of ourselves on the day," he told Sky Sports News.
"It is upsetting losing the derby games.
"We have just got to look forward now and try and push on for the rest of the season.
"I think we can look at it as a one-off, bad performance.
He added: "We conceded some sloppy goals, which, as I think the gaffer said, completely changed the game.
"At the time, on the pitch, we were looking around thinking that this hasn't happened.
"Everyone was really frustrated."
Jenas has insisted that the side must overcome the defeat and performance to continue pushing for a European place.
"In terms of morale, we have got to brush it to the side and move on.
"We have had a good season so far so have got to continue to be positive," he said.
