Sporting Tell Aston Villa To Agree Deal For Veloso Within Three Days - Report

The Birmingham club are being asked to hurry up if they want to sign the midfielder...

Miguel Veloso, Sporting Lisboa (PA)

Aston Villa must negotiate a deal to bring Miguel Veloso from Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon to the Premier League within the next 72 hours, or end their interest, according to a report in The Birmingham Mail.

The report claims that the Portuguese club have handed the ultimatum to Martin O'Neill's side, as they have lost patience with Villa, and could now look to sell the player elsewhere.

One factor that seems to be holding up the move is Martin O'Neill's continuing pursuit of Real Madrid's Wesley Sneijder, whose demands regarding personal terms are believed to be very high.

If he cannot secure Sneijder's services then O'Neill will definitely move for Veloso, but until then a move for the Portuguese international will prove difficult.

The Ulsterman is believed to feel that he needs at least another five players before the new season starts.
