Villarreal Can Win In The Bernabéu - Giuseppe Rossi
Ahead of their clash with Real Madrid this weekend, Villarreal striker, Giuseppe Rossi has said that his side can win, and that it is a motivating game for any player...
Villarreal might have finished 2008 badly, picking up just one point from their last three games, but they will be keen to start the new year off on the right foot.
El Submarino Amarillo travel to the Spanish capital to take on Real Madrid, in a match which could see them leapfrog the defending La Liga champions and move back into the top four.
However, with a new coach at the Bernabéu and the team seemingly in good spirit, there is no doubt it will be a tough test for Villarreal. Italian striker, Giuseppe Rossi, believes that his side can beat Madrid when they meet on Sunday though.
"We start the year with a very motivating game for any player. Playing in the Bernabéu is very difficult but I believe that we can achieve a positive result and win," he told Marca.
The young forward also spoke about how scoring against Madrid at home is 'special', and that he expects to repeat his feat of last season and net again this weekend.
Rossi did admit though that the form of the team recently has not been great, but still thinks they have the quality to recover, and to compete with the best.
"Our intention is to go to Madrid and win, since it is important not to lose track of those above us, that is where we want to be," he concluded.
