The FA charged Stretford, the founder of Proactive Sports Management, claiming he'd breached FIFA players' agent regulations by 'failing to protect Rooney's interests' and 'failing to respect the rights of third parties'.
Subsequently, an independent commission upheld seven of the nine charges and dished out the punishment.
Previously, the FA had been concerned over what they percieved as dodgy circumstances under which he acquired Rooney as a client in 2002. Furthermore, they accused him of providing misleading information regarding such.
Now, Stretford cannot work with the England and Manchester United striker until 2009 and cannot profit from any contract or transfer activity in the meantime.
The Mirror reports that the failed appeal could affect the player's own finances.
