Exclusive: Tottenham To Ramos: Good Luck!

Tottenham Hotspur have sent their good wishes to Juande Ramos, whom they had earlier sacked in October this year, for being named as the new boss of Spanish giants Real Madrid.

On Tuesday, Real Madrid sacked their German coach Bernd Schuster after a series of meetings and the announcement was made public by sporting director Predrag Mijatovic. Schuster had to face the music after Madrid’s poor form in the league and his comments post-Sevilla defeat that his side weren’t good enough to beat Barcelona in the upcoming El Classico.

Juande Ramos was sworn in the coach till the end of the season. The Spaniard had led Tottenham to glory last season by winning the Carling Cup at the expense of Chelsea in his 363 days at the English club.

But this season, the north-London club found themselves at the bottom of the Premier League table instead of breaking into the top four. With just two points from eight matches to show, Juande Ramos was relieved of his duties on October 25 along with assistant manager Gus Poyet, sporting director Damien Comolli and first team coach Marcos Alvarez.

The Lilywhites praised the commitment and professionalism of Ramos, and also wished him good luck at Madrid.

“Juande Ramos is an incredibly professional, committed individual and we wish him well in his new position,” said a Tottenham Hotspur club spokesperson exclusively to Goal.com.

Ramos had his first training session yesterday and his first test comes tonight when Madrid host Zenit St.Petersburg at the Santiago Bernebeu in a Champions League encounter.
