The 19-year-old was injured in training on Tuesday while on international duty, as his country prepared for a friendly against Germany.

Walcott crashed to the turf and suffered a dislocated shoulder, on which he has since had surgery.

The blow is expected to keep the speed-merchant sidelined for three months or more, meaning the Gunners would be entitled to around £1.1 million - the price of Walcott's wages for a 12-week spell.

The compensation packages have been drawn up by the FA as part of an insurance plan to cover clubs' stars while on international duty.

In the wake of the incident, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger dismissed the injury as an accident and refused to attribute individual blame, but he still wants the FA held accountable.

"There should be compensation of course," the French tactician told the press.
