Roma coach Luis Enrique has stated that he feels his side are "on the right track" and is confident that they can beat Inter at the Stadio Olimpico this weekend.

The Giallorossi had a slow start to the 2011-12 campaign but have improved to move up to sixth in the Serie A standings.

Despite a 4-2 defeat against Cagliari last time out, the Spanish trainer believes that his team are heading in the right direction and that they can beat the Giuseppe Meazza outfit if they play to their potential on Sunday.

"If we play without fear and with confidence, we will be able to beat Inter," the former Barcelona B coach told Il Corriere dello Sport.

"We must always be at 100 per cent, otherwise we could easily be beaten by anyone. But I think the team is on the right track," he stated.

Enrique was also full of respect for the Nerazzuri, who have been revitalised since Claudio Ranieri joined the club.

"It will be difficult, Inter are very strong, have quality players and their level has seen a major improvement since the arrival of Ranieri," the 41-year-old observed.

"Ranieri is very good for me, I already knew his technical expertise from the days when he coached in Spain. I do not know him well, but I can only speak well of him."

Roma are one place behind Inter in Serie A with a five-point gap separating the sides ahead of their clash, which has been rescheduled for Sunday due to a cold snap.
