Shots on Target
Full-time at the Hawthorns and Arsenal pick up three very important points in difficult circumstances. The Gunners dominated most of the match, but the combination of Lukaku's introduction and Mertesacker's red card saw the pendulum swing in the Baggies' favour. Nevertheless, Arsenal held on for the win. Thanks for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed the match. Feel free to find me on Twitter: @RyanRyanBenson
90' + 6'
Not long left now as Foster runs with the ball and takes it all the way into the Arsenal half, but he slips as he plays it into the area and the referee blows his whistle for full-time.
90' + 5'
Giroud does well as he chases down a hopeful long ball. He holds McAuley off before getting a shot away, but it whistles just past the far post. It was a very good effort.
90' + 5'
What a waste from West Brom. The corner is taken short, and when it is played back, the assistant on the far side spots an offside.
90' + 4'
Corner for West Brom as Sagna heads behind a lofted pass.
90' + 2'
The majority of Arsenal's players are being pegged back in their own area. The West Brom onslaught continues.
90' + 1'
There will be five minutes of added time at the Hawthorns! Can West Brom get that equaliser?
Long gets into the area again, this time down the left and he shoots towards goal, but Fabianski makes the save again!
Well played by Fabianski. A long ball is headed into the area by Jones and Long almost gets to it, but out comes the goalkeeper, who smothers the ball.
Yellow Card Liam Ridgewell
The hosts are running out of time, but they aren't giving up yet! Almost all of their players are crowding the visitors' half.
Brilliant chance for West Brom! Jones' cross from the right is not dealt with by Arsenal, allowing it to squeeze all the way through to Lukaku, who controls and curls a powerful shot wide of the far post. He really should have scored.
Yellow Card Mikel Arteta
This is all West Brom now. Rosicky goes off for Kieran Gibbs as the visitors look to keep the hosts out until the end.
Another good chance for the Baggies! Corner is fired in to the far post, but McAuley heads just wide. This will be a long final 10 minutes for Arsenal.
Lukaku involved again down the left, this time Morrison connects with his cross, but his shot hits a team-mate, who actually prevents the ball from going out. Arsenal concede a corner.
Yellow Card Billy Jones
Absolutely fantastic play by Lukaku as he charges down the left, holds off Sagna, gets to the byline and then cuts back on him before crossing low into the area. Unfortunately for the Belgian, he had little support and Arsenal partially clear.
Monreal clearly unhappy as he and Long tangle by the side of the pitch. The Spaniard lifts his shirt up to reveal a cut on his stomach, but Webb saw little wrong with Long's conduct.
Ridgewell crosses perfectly from the left and Lukaku beats both Vermaelen and Koscielny in the air to get a header away, but his effort goes over.
With Arsenal down to 10 men, the onus is very much on West Brom now. Ever since Lukaku entered the pitch, things have looked considerably different.
Penalty Goal James Morrison
GOAL!!! West Brom are back in this! Morrison steps up to take the penalty, and although Fabianski gets a touch on it, the midfielder finds the net!
Red Card Per Mertesacker
Penalty to West Brom! Morrison does well to pick out a very good pass over the West Brom defence for Long. The Irish forward brings the ball down, but is taken out by Mertesacker. The German gets a red card, too!
Little comes of the corner and Arsenal clear relatively comfortably.
The hosts have looked a lot better since Arsenal got their second. This time Lukaku gets a shot away inside the penalty area, but again Fabianski makes the save. West Brom get a corner, however.
Lukaku tries his luck from the resulting free kick, but it is too far out to cause too many issues for Fabianski who makes a fairly easy save.
Yellow Card Laurent Koscielny
Calamitous defending from Arsenal nearly gifts West Brom a big chance. Mertesacker plays a simple pass across the back line to Laurent Koscielny, but his effort is short, allowing Long to steal the ball just ahead of the Frenchman. Koscielny brings the forward down and gets booked.
West Brom go straight down the other end and have a penalty claim of their own! James Morrison breaks into the area and pressures Per Mertesacker. The German falls to the floor and lands on the ball, but despite the incessant yells, Webb does not give in.
Brief claims for an Arsenal penalty as Monreal's cross from the left strikes a West Brom player, but Howard Webb does not believe it struck a hand.
Good move by Arsenal as Cazorla plays a one-two with Rosicky, but his eventual effort goes well wide.
West Brom fire the corner in, but Arsenal get it away at the first time of asking and the ball is then put out of play due to an injury. McAuley appears to have taken a bang in the face, but he should be able to continue.
Good play by Jerome as he twists and turns down the left, tries to beat Sagna and wins a corner.
The hosts just look to be trying to maintain a period of possession now. Having the ball has not been their problem today, rather their inability to create chances.
That second goal may well be a hammer blow to West Brom's chances in this match. They have rarely caused Arsenal many problems, but Romelu Lukaku may be about to come on.
Assist Aaron Ramsey
Goal Tomas Rosicky
GOAL!!! Arsenal double their lead against West Brom! Ramsey did very well to play Rosicky into the area from the right, with the Czech midfielder hammering a half-volley goalwards. Foster made the save, but Rosicky follows his own shot up and smashes home the rebound.
Rosicky surges towards the West Brom goal, fakes a pass to his right before sliding Gervinho into the area, but Foster does well to come out and deny him.
Arsenal straight on to the attack at the beginning of this second half. But, after good play on the edge of the area by the Gunners, Cazorla tries to pick out Sagna on the right, however it is cut out by Ridgewell.
Arsenal get the second half underway at the Hawthorns.
Referee Howard Webb blows his whistle for half-time at the Hawthorns as Arsenal take a 1-0 lead into the break.
What a chance for Arsenal! The Gunners get the ball forward to Giroud who plays a one-two with Cazorla before getting into the area and back-heeling to Ramsey. However, the Wales midfielder pokes wide from six yards out when it looked harder to miss than score.
This match certainly seems to have established a pattern as West Brom show some attacking intent before Arsenal look to counter.
Arsenal spring a counterattack. Nacho Monreal and Gervinho link well in midfield, and then the Ivorian takes possession inside before attempting a clever flick into the path of Ramsey, however Olsson does well to put a foot in.
Yellow Card Tomas Rosicky
West Brom keeping Arsenal inside their own half at the moment as they keep possession well, but the Gunners still look fairly comfortable.
Brief stoppage at the Hawthorns as Yacob needs medical assistance, but referee Howard Webb refuses to give him a free kick.
Dangerous cross from Ridgewell down the left is not dealt with by Arsenal and it finds its way all the way through to Long, who tries to get the ball back in towards his team-mates, but it is deflected back to Fabianski.
Clarke's men look much more effective once they have the ball down on the floor and they create a good opening that way as they work Jerome into play on the left. The winger cuts inside Sagna and crosses. The delivery was troublesome for Arsenal, but they get it away eventually.
West Brom are looking rather short of ideas, currently. Too often they are aimlessly booting the ball up the pitch with few players to pick out.
Very good play by Gervinho again, this time against Jonas Olsson in the right side of the penalty area. He beats the centre-back before shooting from a narrow angle, but Foster makes the save with his right foot.
Brunt's free kick goes into the area, but a looping header gives Fabianski little to struggle with.
Yellow Card Aaron Ramsey
Yellow Card James Morrison
West Brom win another free kick as Jerome draws a foul from Aaron Ramsey, resulting in a yellow card for the midfielder.
Brunt's effort is on target as it squirms underneath the Arsenal wall, but Fabianski gets down to his left and makes a routine save.
Good, positive play again by West Brom and they are awarded with a free kick in a dangerous position on the right. Brunt to take.
Few would argue that Arsenal don't deserve the lead, but West Brom have little to lose here.
Goal Tomas Rosicky
GOAL!!! Arsenal take the lead at the Hawthorns! Gervinho does well to make something out of a hopeful ball over the top of the Baggies' defence. He turns Gareth McAuley inside out before picking out Rosicky who heads in.
Needless foul by Gervinho there as he is overly-attentive to Liam Ridgewell near the hosts' corner flag.
The Jones-Long combination works well down the right again, but this time the striker cuts inside on to his left foot and shoots wide.
West Brom are looking positive again as they attack their visitors. Billy Jones links up with Long down the right, but the forward's cross is too close to Lukasz Fabianski.
That period of play certainly had Arsenal worried there, while Steve Clarke's men seem to have finally woken up to this game.
What a chance for West Brom! Chris Brunt's corner is played in powerfully and Yacob meets it at the near post, flicking it towards the goal but Rosicky heads it off the line.
Arsenal tentatively clear the corner, but West Brom soon win another.
Promising move from West Brom as the attack looks to have died down, but Claudio Yacob gets the ball moving back towards the left. Cameron Jerome nearly beats Sagna, but wins a corner.
The hosts are having to take possession very deep so far, with Arsenal pressing rather high.
Back come Arsenal. Gervinho and Rosicky combine on the edge of the area with the Czech midfielder getting a shot away eventually, but it goes hopelessly wide.
Arsenal have had most of the possession so far, but West Brom are playing it around simply near their own penalty area as they look to slow the tempo. Nevertheless, the ball comes back to Ben Foster who boots the ball out of play.
Sagna involved again as Santi Cazorla plays a delightful cross-field ball to the right-back. However, as happened before, the defender's delivery into the area is pretty awful and West Brom clear momentarily.
Patient build-up play from Arsenal as they stroke the ball around confidently in the West Brom half. However, when Tomas Rosicky picks out Bacary Sagna to his right, the Frenchman's attempted cross is poor.
The hosts are straight on to the front foot as Shane Long looks to get on the end of a through ball behind the Gunners' defenders, but the Irish striker is just offside.
We're off at the Hawthorns!
Arsenal are undefeated in their last four visits to the Hawthorns.
However, since the turn of the year, the Bagges have, on average, picked up just one Premier League point per game.
Only Manchester United and Manchester City have won more home games than West Brom this season.
And the Arsenal team is: Fabianski; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal; Rosicky, Arteta, Ramsey; Cazorla, Giroud, Gervinho. SUBS: Mannone, Vermaelen, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Ox, Coquelin, Podolski
First of all, the teams. Here is West Brom's: Foster; Jones, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell; Yacob, Brunt; Dorrans, Morrison, Thomas; Long. SUBS: Myhill, Popov, Rosenberg, Lukaku, Tamas, Fortune, Brown
