  • And that's all from tonight's World Cup Qualifier. Thanks for joining us this evening. Disappointment for Wales, but Real Madrid fans will be very excited. Good night!
  • Scotland, meanwhile, beat Macedonia 2-1, meaning that Coleman's side are now bottom of Group A. Wales host the former Yugoslav republic before finishing their campaign against group leaders Belgium.
  • Gareth Bale, though, really injected some life into proceedings, showing glimpses of why Real Madrid paid so much for him. A nutmeg, three shots in quick succession, and a stunning long-range free kick. Not bad for half an hour's work!
  • That's FULL-TIME in Cardiff and it's finished Wales 0-3 Serbia. A thoroughly disappointing performance from the hosts, but an impressive display from Serbia, particularly down the left flank with Markovic and Kolarov.
  • 90' + 2'
    Substitution Ljubomir Fejsa Radosav Petrović
  • 90' + 2'
Robson-Kanu, who has impressed since coming on, sees one shot blocked before overhitting another, but Wales retain possession.
  • 90'
Another chance! Robson-Kanu plays it in from the left and it hits Nastasic before coming back off Vokes' shin and flying over. Wales are ending strongly, here.
  • 88'
    Substitution Dusan Tadic Nenad Krsticic
  • 88'
    Yellow Card Ljubomir Fejsa
  • 88'
WHAT AN EFFORT!! Fejsa goes into the book after a cynical pull back on Ramsey after he gives the ball straight to the Wales midfielder, and Bale steps up to hammer the free kick from all of 35 yards, forcing Stojkovic to parry a violently swerving, dipping effort over the bar.
  • 86'
Robson-Kanu darts down the left but Ivanovic gets back and shows all his experience and strength to force the winger off the ball and win possession back for Serbia.
  • 85'
Wales' third sub, Hal Robson-Kanu, does well to get on the end of a long ball on the left flank, but it just strays over the line and Serbia win it back.
  • 83'
Bale pushes forward and skips past Milivojevic before going down while trying to avoid the Serbian's outstretched leg, but the referee isn't interested and waves play on.
  • 82'
Substitute Luka Milivojevic shows superb close control to evade several Wales players and set the visitors up for a move forward. They win a corner and Milivojevic's powerful ball in is somehow forced out of the Wales box.
  • 80'
CHANCE! Kolarov gets to the by-line and cuts it back for Djordjevic, who tries a cheeky backheel towards goal, but it comes off Gabbidon and Wales clear.
  • 79'
Bale darts down the right-hand side, doing well to win a corner, but Ramsey's ball in is headed away. Just over ten minutes left for Coleman's side to get on the scoresheet.
  • 78'
The band inside the stadium is still going strong. They haven't had much to cheer tonight, though.
  • 76'
Markovic is down on the halfway line after a clattering from Bellamy, but the Wales man escapes a booking. It's been a frustrating night for the Cardiff forward.
  • 75'
    Substitution Joe Ledley Hal Robson-Kanu
  • 74'
Wales definitely look more confident since Bale's introduction, and the winger leaves Kolarov for dead on the right flank with a superb nutmeg before trying a cross with the outside of his left, but Serbia clear easily.
  • 72'
Djuricic swings it across the pitch for Kolarov, who tries a cross with the outside of his left foot which goes all the way out to Ivanovic, and the full-back wins a corner, which comes out for Fejsa to belt a first-time shot high and wide.
  • 70'
Great chance for Wales as Bale helps get James Vaughan going down the right, but can't meet the midfielder's cross at the near post and Ramsey fails to connect well with the second ball.
  • 69'
The game is pretty stop-start at the moment, and Fejsa fouls Bellamy in midfield, giving the hosts the chance to regroup and look for what would be a consolation goal.
  • 67'
    Substitution Ivan Radovanovic Luka Milivojević
  • 67'
Davies does well to recover in defence and catch up to Ivanovic before forcing it out for a corner to the visitors, which is met and subsequently blasted over by Djuricic.
  • 65'
There's more danger for the hosts as Tadic cuts inside from the right and produces a Zidane-esque pirouette before giving it away.
  • 63'
Bale almost makes his mark on the game as the crowd urges him to shoot but Ivanovic gets there ahead of him. The Real Madrid man gets two more shots in quick succession, forcing Stojkovic to save a dipping effort at his near post before drilling a low shot just wide of the same upright.
  • 61'
The hosts are still struggling to get any meaningful passages of passing together. Markovic wins it again in midfield and slots Tadic through, but the return pass is wayward and Wales collect the ball in defence.
  • 59'
Stojkovic is finally forced to make a save as Ramsey drives it low from 30 yards out, and it swerves towards the far post, forcing a decent stop from the Serbia goalkeeper down to his left.
  • 58'
    Substitution Andy King Gareth Bale
  • 58'
    Substitution Andrew Crofts David Vaughan
  • 58'
Absolutely superb challenge from Matthews to deny Tadic just as he is about to pull the trigger on the edge of the box, and it rolls slowly back to Myhill before there's a break in play to allow James Vaughan and the world's most expensive footballer to make their entrance.
  • 57'
Bale is getting ready to come on for the hosts...
  • 55'
    Goal Lazar Marković
GOAL!! MARKOVIC MAKES IT THREE!! There's acres of space down the left for Tadic, and the midfielder cuts inside to try a shot which Myhill saves well at his near post, but it comes back to Markovic who drives it straight back where it came from, and Myhill can't stop it again. Game over.
  • 54'
A speculative Djordjevic effort flies off target and Wales have the ball again, but yet again they surrender it quickly and Serbia can push forward.
  • 52'
Good chance for Wales as Gabbidon drives forward before slipping a delightgul pass through for Ramsey, but the midfielder completely fluffs his right-footed effort from 25 yards and it slices high and wide of the goal.
  • 51'
There's more activity along the touchline as Bale continues to warm up. Meanwhile Kolarov has another go, this time from just 20 yards and with his right, but it loops up off a defender and goes through to Myhill.
  • 49'
    Yellow Card Andrew Crofts
  • 49'
Crofts succumbs to more Serbia pressure and eventually fouls Tadic, earning himself a booking in the process and giving Serbia a free kick in a good position, but Ivanovic's swinging ball evades everyone and goes for a throw.
  • 47'
Wales stroke it across the back with Serbia pressing high again, and again it's Crofts who is dispossessed and the visitors take control of the ball, shunning the chance to move forward and opting to go back into their own half.
  • 46'
We're back underway in Cardiff as Wales get the ball rolling again.
  • We mustn't forget that this has been a clinical display from Serbia. 19-year-old Markovic has particularly impressed so far and the Benfica man looks a real prospect.
  • Elsewhere in Group A, Scotland are goalless in Macedonia. Wales could end up bottom of the group tonight if things carry on like this.
  • It's HALF-TIME in Cardiff and Serbia have a 2-0 lead at the break, thanks to an early header Djordjevic and a stunning goal from Kolarov. Not a classic half for the hosts. Could the introduction of Bale turn this one around?
  • 45'
Wales have the ball in the Serbia half but the defence is standing strong, forcing Ramsey to try a Hollywood pass which goes behind for a goal kick.
  • 43'
There were signs of Wales getting back into it before that second goal but that was a real hammer blow. They're giving it away far too much in midfield though and have been made to pay.
  • 41'
What a strike that was. Wales are trying hard to get back in it though as Bellamy breaks down the left and wins a throw. Matthews launches it into the box but Serbia are able to clear their lines.
  • 38'
    Assist Ivan Radovanovic
  • 38'
    Goal Aleksandar Kolarov
GOAL!! KOLAROV WITH A ROCKET!! It's 2-0 to the visitors and there's nothing Wales can do about that one. It's worked wide to the full-back and he takes a touch before lining it up and firing an absolute piledriver into the top right-hand corner. Stunning strike.
  • 37'
CHANCE!! Crofts gives it away in midfield again and Markovic sets Fejsa free, but Myhill is able to parry the Serbia man's curling shot and Davies is there to clear a
  • 36'
The visitors try a routine from the set piece but it all goes completely wrong as the defence moves up and all the white shirts are forced to retreat, leaving the ball to go back into Welsh hands.
  • 35'
Crofts is in trouble with the referee after going in hard on Radovanovic for a 50-50 ball and the visitors have a free kick halfway inside the Wales half. Meanwhile, Ramsey looks alright to coninue.
  • 34'
Ivan Radovanovic and Ramsey challenge for the ball on the far side, and the Wales midfielder lands awkwardly against an advertising hoarding. Play goes on as he receives treatment off the pitch.
  • 32'
Excellent work by Ramsey in midfield to put pressure on Djuricic, but the Arsenal man is penalised for an over-exuberant challenge. It looked like he won the ball, but the referee deemed it illegal.
  • 31'
Nastasic is penalised again for fouling Vokes in the air. There could be a chance for the hosts to exploit this. Wales are in possession once more but it's all going across the back at the moment.
  • 29'
Half a chance for Wales as the Crofts wins the ball outside his own box with a superb challenge before spreading it to Matthews, who lofts a long early ball for Ramsey to chase, but the skipper is just short of reaching it and Stojkovic comes out to collect the ball.
  • 27'
There's been a sudden injection of pace from Wales, here. Bellamy and Ramsey link up on the left but it goes out for a throw to the hosts, before Matthews drills in a cross which goes straight to the goalkeeper.
  • 26'
Chance for Wales as Ledley manages to break down the left and it's worked to Matthews, whose cross looks for Vokes but he can't get a decent header away and Stojkovic gathers.
  • 24'
Wales are really, really nervous this evening. It's hardly suprising with new partnerships in the centre of defence and midfield, but they're in serious danger of being left behind here.
  • 23'
CLOSE!! Filip Duricic does well to chase down the ball deep on the right and ends up winning a corner for the visitors. Ivanovic sprints away from his man before firing a low header just wide of the post.
  • 21'
Ivanovic swings a superb crossfield ball to Kolarov, who breaks down the left before laying it off to Markovic, and he tries a speculative effort from 30 yards which hits a defender and Wales clear.
  • 19'
Ramsey isn't getting much time at all; Ljubomir Fejsa is all over him at the moment. The Serbia man closes the Arsenal midfielder down and forces the ball out for a throw.
  • 17'
Bale jogs down the sideline for a warm-up, sparking the loudest noise of the evening from the Wales fans. On the pitch, the hosts have the ball but Vokes is caught offside after doing well to control Chris Gunter's cross from the right.
  • 16'
Serbia have already registered three shots on target, while Wales have yet to test the goalkeeper. The visitors are in possession once more and move forward before Adam Matthews wins the ball in defence, lofting it forward to Vokes who wins a foul for a push by Nastasic in midfield.
  • 14'
CHANCE! Dusan Tadic meets the low corner and hammers a shot towards goal but, fortunately for the hosts, it deflects off Ivanovic and behind for a goal kick.
  • 13'
Wales have only beaten Scotland in this qualifying campaign, and they're severely depleted tonight. Andy King gets caught at the back and ends up having to put it out for a corner.
  • 11'
Gabbidon looks for Vokes with a long ball from the back but Nastasic collects it comfortably. The visitors are pressing high and not giving Wales much time on the ball.
  • 10'
Chants of "Bale! Bale!" echo around the ground already. Not a good start from Coleman's men.
  • 8'
    Goal Filip Djordjevic
GOAL!! Serbia are in front! Kolarov breaks free with acres of space on the left before whipping in a dangerous cross. Boaz Myhill parries the initial header straight up into the air and Filip Djordjevic is there to head the rebound into the right-hand corner as the defence stands completely still.
  • 7'
The hosts suddenly try again to inject some pace into a move and Joe Ledley looks to lift it over the defence for Ramsey in the box, but it goes through to Vladimir Stojkovic in the Serbia goal.
  • 6'
Both sides look like they want to pass it around and get into the game slowly for now. It's not the quickest pace.
  • 5'
The visitors have settled into a nice passing stride already. They're content to play it across the back before Ramsey steals it back for Wales.
  • 3'
CHANCE! Andrew Crofts produces a very poor touch on the edge of his own box and it's rolled left to Lazar Markovic, who cuts on to his right before curling it wide of the post. Sloppy from the hosts but they get away with it.
  • 2'
It's a very subdued start, but Wales suddenly try and get things going through Aaron Ramsey, who latches on to a Sam Vokes header but can't find a man in the box and the attack breaks down.
  • 1'
And we're off as Serbia get us started.
  • The players read out a FIFA fair play statement before the anthems ring around the ground. We're moments away from getting started in Cardiff.
  • The players walk out into a very sparsely-populated Cardiff City Stadium. If there's to be any atmosphere tonight it looks like the hosts will have to get the fans going.
  • Serbia, meanwhile, have bags of talent in defence, with Manchester City duo Matija Nastasic and Aleksandar Kolarov playing alongside Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic. That back line could prove a very tough nut to crack for Wales tonight.
  • So, the big news (of course) is that Gareth Bale is again on the bench after being an unused substitute in the defeat to Macedonia. Ashley Williams is suspended so Aaron Ramsey takes the captain's armband this evening, while Swansea left-back Ben Davies looks to fill the void at centre-back as Coleman makes five changes from Friday.

  • Good evening and welcome to LIVE play-by-play coverage of Wales v Serbia from Cardiff. Neither side can qualify for the World Cup next year, but Chris Coleman's men can leapfrog their visitors with victory tonight, and everyone will be hoping to catch a glimpse of a certain £85m winger...
