Kept the visitors out with a commendable first-half display. Was left vulnerable by his defenders in the second period, however, although he could not be faulted for any of the strikes.
One of the brighter notes of the Plzen display, the right-sided player started at the full-back position but was more than happy to come forward on occasion, delivering some dangerous crosses in the process.
Booked for a cynical dive in the opening period. Lost Dzeko all too easily on too many occasions and failed, similarly, to live with Aguero's pace.
The fact that Jesus Navas was fairly quiet all evening was good news for the left-back as City chose other avenues to breach the Plzen back-line.
The makeshift centre-back never really looked comfortable all night and all confidence was sapped after he was out-muscled by Aguero for the first goal. Quickly got into difficulty with Dzeko and was subsequently subbed.
Perhaps to his credit, Kolar was singled out by Nastasic and Kompany early on for special treatment. Filled the same role as Aguero did at the other end but wasn't nearly as effective.
Lasting 90 minutes at the ripe old age of 38 is no mean feat and Horvath was never really made to look completely out of place. Like most of his team-mates, though, he was shown up by City's agility in the second period but the veteran was still able to deliver some troubling set-pieces.
Rattled the crossbar with a fantastic effort late on. Also formed an effective partnership with Horvath to provide a stern obstacle for the visitors in the opening period. Appeared leggy as City turned up the heat, however.
A lively display from the midfielder, who was close to connecting with Hoavarth's deep deliveries early on. Another who found space and possession in sparse supply as the game went on.
A difficult evening for the winger despite a bright start. managed to get at Kolarov early on but found opportunities fewer and further between as City grasped hold of the game.
Had a difficult time up top by himself and rarely got the better of either Kompany or Nastasic. Compounded by receiving no real opportunities in front of goal, a striker's worst nightmare.
Beat away a dangerous free kick early on and got Kompany out of jail with his quick reactions. A very quiet second period almost ended in the worst way possible when his crossbar was rattled but the cleansheet remained in tact.
Needlessly booked and almost came close to a second in the first half. Got forward at will, though, setting up Dzeko, who should have scored.
Solid, strong and quick, the young defender looked composed with his Belgian partner back alongside him at the heart of the City defence.
Fairly evident throughout that the Belgian was just coming back from injury as his positioning and awareness almost cost his team dearly in the first half. Seemed a little rusty but will be pleased to have got 90 minutes under his belt.
A very quiet performance from the Argentine, who was happy to sit back most of the game. Got lucky with an important block at 1-0 when a goal-bound effort struck his shoulder.
Tested Kozacik early on with a wicked effort that had to be tipped over. Looked tired apart from that, however, after his international exploits with Spain.
A slow start to the game saw the Ivorian hesitate on the ball and City struggle to find rhythm. Exploded out of the blocks in the second half, however, and capped a much better second-half performance with a majestic effort.
A marked improvement on his weekend outing at Stoke as Nasri showed sparks in the first half of what he is capable of. Linked up well with Toure to set up the second and third goals.
A turgid first half saw him booked as he failed to create any kind of rapport with Toure in the middle. Looked better going forward in the second, however, as City moved the ball much more slickly.
Was happy to run at the Plzen defence with the ball at feet and it was his direct style that saw him hit the post early on. A blistering second-half display though saw him set up Dzeko and net one himself as he tormented the Plzen defence.
Blew City's best chance of the opening half but redeemed himself early in the second by opening the scoring. Got himself into good positions all evening and was taken off late on by Pellegrini with Sunday's derby in mind.
