United went 2-0 up at home to Lajong but were pegged back and had to settle for a share of the spoils.

United Sports Club were held to a 2-2 draw against Shillong Lajong FC at the Kalyani Stadium in an I-League encounter on Sunday afternoon. Eric Brown (13') and Waheed Owolabi Adekunle (21') put the hosts 2-0 up before goals from Durga Boro (32') and Uilliams Bomfin (57') earned a point for Thangboi Singto's men.

The visitors made four changes to their side that last featured in the Federation Cup when they beat Mumbai FC 4-0. Lalramluaha Hmar, Seikhohao Tuboi, Uilliams Bomfin and Durga Boro came into the side in place of Taisuke Matsugae, Milan Singh, Singam Subash Singh and Redeem Tlang.

Meanwhile, Subrata Bhattacharya made just one change to his team, bringing in Jayanta Paul in goal with Sangram Mukherjee occupying the bench.

Just 13 minutes into the game, Eric Brown scored to put the home side ahead. Waheed Owolabi Adekunle then doubled United's tally eight minutes later. However, Lajong struck back in the 32nd minute when new signing Durga Boro scored on debut.

A great chance fell to Dhanachandra Singh just before half-time but the defender failed to take advantage and the two sides went into the break with the score 2-1 in favour of United.

The hosts began the second half brightly and created chances for Baldeep Singh and Mohammed Rafique in quick succession which they failed to capitalize on. They were made to pay for those missed opportunities in the 57th minute when Uilliams Bomfin scored the equalizer.

United pushed forward for the remainder of the game in search of the winner but came up short and the points were ultimately shared at full-time.

Schattorie's troops now have 20 points and find themselvs in 6th place while Lajong lie just above them in 5th with 24 points.
