Hall's men concede in stoppage time yet again to throw away vital points, as Yakubu saves Mumbai the blushes...

Yusif Yakubu salvaged a point for Mumbai FC, late in stoppage time, as Khalid Jamil's side drew 2-2 against United Sikkim, in an I-League tie at the Paljor Stadium in Gangtok on Wednesday.

The Ghanaian had initially given his side the lead in the 11th minute, before goals from Nadong Bhutia and Linekar Machado handed the initiative to the Snow Lions. Nathan Hall's side seemed set to move out of the relegation zone with all 3 points, but Yakubu had other ideas, restoring parity in the 94th minute.

It seemed an up-hill task for United Sikkim, when in the 10th minute Yusif Yakubu gave the away side the lead. Yakubu's close range shot was not dealt well by the Sikkim custodian Monotosh Ghosh and was pushed towards the corner. Nicholas Rodriguez then whipped in a beautiful cross and Yusuf Yakubu did well to control the ball and slot it home.

However the hosts hit back magnificently though, as they hit back by scoring two quick goals in the 15th and 17th minute to grab control of the match. Munmum T Lugun whipped in a decent ball from the left side, which Nima Tamang did well to head towards Nadong Bhutia, who was left with the job of an easy tap in.

The home side took the lead with some brilliant play as Nima Tamang sent in a dangerous ball in the 17th minute which saw Bhutia's header come back off the post, but to the home side's delight, Linekar Machado was at the right place at the perfect time, as he poked the ball into an unguarded net.

Mumbai FC were presented with chances to level the score, but their finishing seemed to be affected by the chilly weather, as they headed into half-time, down by a goal against United Sikkim.

The second half saw United Sikkim get atleast 3 glorious opportunities to seal the game, but the Snow Lions failed to take any of them and were punished ruthlessly by Yusif Yakubu in the 94th minute, with a well taken finish, to break the hopes of Nathan Hall's side.

Having dropped a point in injury time against Pune FC in the last gameweek, it seems like the hosts have not learned from past mistakes.

The draw means that United Sikkim stay 11th in the table with 10 points, a point and place behind North-East rivals Shillong Lajong. Mumbai FC meanwhile are in 5th place, with 20 points.
