Shots on Target
90' + 5'
Both teams have late pushes, but neither can get the all-important goal and the referee blows his whistle for full time as Brendan Rodgers' return to the Liberty Stadium ends with a 0-0 draw.
90' + 3'
Great effort by Shelvey! The midfielder is gifted a lot of space and therefore decides to shoot from about 20 yards out, but Tremmel gets down to his right and makes the save.
90' + 1'
Gerrard plays the ball into the area, and although it is not certain whether it was a cross or shot, it narrowly misses Cole and the far post.
Four minutes of added time issued.
Suarez is drifting out to the right more often at the moment, but he is not getting a lot of luck, firstly getting tackled by Davies and then taking a heavy touch to get past Hernandez. giving away a throw-in in the process.
From the resulting corner, Williams connects with another header, but as has been the case with most of his previous efforts, it goes well over.
Great save by Reina! Hernandez steps up and aims his free kick into the goalkeeper's bottom left corner, but he gets down and tips it round the post.
Ki uses his body well as he lures a foul from Allen on the edge of the Liverpool penalty area. Hernandez and Agustien starting over it.
Jonathan De Guzmán
Liverpool counter with purpose, but it was a move that offered so much more. Suarez and Sterling had just two defenders to beat, but Sterling's final pass is poor, sending his teammate well wide. Eventually the striker cuts back inside and shoots, but Tremmel catches.
Hernandez picks out Michu excellently in the penalty area, but his first touch is not great and Skrtel is there to poke the ball away. Good tackle.
The final 10 minutes are upon us and both sides are in a desperate search for three points. Chances have been rarer in the second half, however.
Swansea adamant they should have been given a penalty. Hernandez crossed from the right and as Michu and Agger jump for the ball, the Spaniard ends up on his backside. The former Rayo man clearly feels he was pulled down, but the replays seem to support the referee's decision to play on.
Liverpool immediately back on to the offensive as Suarez wins a corner down the right side. Gerrard receives even more stick from the home fans as he collects the ball, but the Reds captain laughs off the heckles.
After a couple of minutes of medical attention, the match is back underway. Both Reina and Dyer are okay.
Some very poor defending by Downing there as he takes his time making a clearance only for Dyer to jolt in front of him, stealing the ball before surging torwards the area. The winger has to stretch for the ball to beat Reina, but the two collide and both require medical attention. The referee appears to have given a corner.
Yellow Card Chico
Gerrard plays a good ball into the area from the free kick, but Agger's header is food and drink for Tremmel.
Free kick for Liverpool as Chico harasses Suarez for the ball but gets himself a yellow card instead.
Liverpool initially clear the corner, but only as far as Dyer who controls and then volleys, but it is deflected wide.
A similar move ends with Davies attacking again down the right, but this time he wins a corner as Johnson blocks his cross.
A good example of impressive counterattacking there by Swansea. Liverpool were on the offensive with Gerrard and Agger, but after getting possesion the Swans were straight down the other end. Hernandez picked out a great run by Davies down the left, but his cross only wins a throw-in.
Allen clears the ball off the line! The Swansea corner was whipped in with plenty of power and Williams just directed it towards the bottom corner, but Allen hacks it away. The ball may have been going just wide, but he wasn't to be certain.
This match appears to have woken up again and this time Rangel has a good chance. Routledge held the ball up well on the left side of the area before squaring it across the box for Rangel. The Spaniard took the ball inside before shooting and his effort is deflected behind.
That's better by Swansea! After patient build-up, the ball is played into the area from the byline following good play by Routledge, but Reina saves Michu's header.
After a good start to the second half, Swansea are looking a bit short of ideas in attack lately, with the final pass lacking.
Good effort by Suarez as he marches into the Swansea area before shooting for the bottom corner, but again Tremmel makes the save.
Johnson involved down the right again as he beats Davies and then tries to flick a pass into the area for Suarez, but Williams does well to intercept and then clear.
Brendan Rodgers' side are having their first meaningful spell of possession and it results in a shot from Gerrard as Suarez picks him out and keep running, hoping for a return pass. The pass is attempted but blocked, allowing Gerrard the opportunity to shoot, only for Tremmel to pluck it out of the air with ease.
The Reds are yet to get going in the second half. The introduction of Ki certainly seems to have added a bit more composure to the Swansea midfield, as De Guzman is pushed up just behind Michu.
Hernandez's effort is far from great as it goes well over.
Free kick to Swansea in a very dangerous area. Liverpool gave possession away before Ki played the ball to Hernandez. The Spaniard turned and was then fouled by Allen, amidst a crowd of four players.
De Guzman has perhaps been a little disappointing so far today as he tries to pick out Routledge on the right, but his pass was asking way too much of the winger.
Great play by Sterling. The 17-year-old tracks back, intercepts a pass before playing two one-twos, converting defence into attack in a matter of seconds. Eventually Enrique's cross for Suarez is poor, but it was a good move.
First attack of the half as Reina comes to collect a pass played forward for Michu, who is now up front after Shechter was replaced by Ki.
We're back underway for the second half. As the players came out for the second period, music from the film 'Gladiator' echoed around the Liberty Stadium. Great introduction.
45' + 1'
The referee blows his whistle for halftime after a less-than-enthralling first half.
A melee ensues on the edge of the Swansea penalty area when a host of players try to get control of the ball. Gerrard and Suarez find themselves on the floor, while several Swans attempt to boot the ball out of the messy scramble. Eventually the ball squirms free and is cleared for a throw-in.
With there being very few stoppages of note, there will be just the one minute of added time.
Although he has looked a little more quiet than usual, Suarez certainly looks Liverpool's best source of attacking problems. Again the Uruguayan gets behind Davies, dribbles past Williams and then cuts back on himself, getting down to the byline before crossing into the arms of Tremmel.
Another corner wasted as Swansea deal with it easily.
The Reds come forward down the right again and Sterling slips a pass behind Davies for Suarez, but Williams is there to mop up. Corner for Liverpool.
Liverpool looking to create something meaningful as this first half draws to a close, but Swansea win the ball back with ease. The home side definitely look the more likely at the moment.
Michu harshly penalised in his own half as he eases his way round Allen with his strength, but the referee deemed it unfair.
Hernandez goes close for the third time as he beats Johnson fantastically, playing the ball through his legs before jinking inside Skrtel and shooting. However, it is just a little too high.
Britton again producing a good bit of skill to burst away from his marker before laying the ball off to Michu. The Spaniard shoots from 30 yards, but it is blocked.
Liverpool feeling aggrieved as Enrique has a goal disallowed. Suarez chips a pass to the far post where the Spaniard slides in to score, but the assistant got the decision right. Offside.
Sterling hits the bar! The Liverpool corner fell for Sterling who lashed a volley towads the top far corner, but it cannoned back off the bar.
Liverpool corner after a rather bizarre moment from a Swansea perspective. Tremmel got down and palmed away a cross straight to Suarez despite the delivery going wide, but Williams saves his goalkeeper, blocking Suarez's shot.
What a let-off for Liverpool! Gerrard clumsily attempted a back-heeled pass 30 yards from goal, but it was intercepted by Britton who passed to De Guzman. However, when two players were screaming for the pass, De Guzman went for goal himself, firing miles wide.
Great play by De Guzman as he picks out a marvellous ball to Hernandez on the right, but Enrique gets back to deal with the threat.
Hernandez looking busy again, this time from the left as he cuts in and tries to curl an effort into the top far corner, but it sails just wide of the post.
Swansea having no problem when it comes to keeping the ball, passing it around or finding space, but they have not created a lot in terms of chances. Must change if they are to capitalise on any pressure.
Unsurprisingly, the corner comes to nothing. Seems to be the trend in this match.
Johnson involved again as he plays a clever one-two with Enrique on the left before bursting into the area and shooting, but Tremmel does well to get his body behind it, conceding a corner.
Great run by Johnson as he beats several men in the penalty area, but Williams put in a tackle just as he looked to shoot.
The game seems to have settled into a pattern now. Swansea are generally controlling much of the play, but Liverpool are looking dangerous whenever they go forward, particularly on the counterattack.
Swansea on the attack again, and after Hernandez puts in another low cross, the clearance is smashed against the incoming Michu and almost finds its way into the goal, but not quite.
Liverpool reply with a chance of the own as Downing crossed from deep, but Suarez couldn't quite get the important touch at the front post.
Good move by Swansea. Hernandez does well in the centre, spinning away from a couple of markers before picking out Routledge, who in turn curls a ball to the back post, but Reina catches it just before Shechter can get a touch.
Hernandez comes inside again to try and make things happen, but his attempted through ball for Shechter is easily cut out by Agger.
What a chance for Liverpool! Glen Johnson crossed low from the right and Enrique arrived in the centre at the last minute and chested the ball just wide. Good improvisation.
Liverpool almost carve open a great chance, but Suarez is offside. Enrique came forward, cutting inside and then poked a ball behind the defence, but Suarez anticipated an earlier pass which never came.
Ball played back to Reina and despite pressure from Michu, the goalkeeper tricks his compatriot and then clears.
Skrtel headed out the corner and eventually it fell to Chico, but his shot was blocked and the attack dies down.
Routledge forces Reina into a good save! Hernandez cut inside with effect and played in Routledge who took the ball in his stride and then shot. The goalkeeper got down to his left and palmed it away.
Johnson meets Gerrard's corner with a header, but it goes comfortably over.
Corner for Liverpool as Sterling plays Johnson is down the right. The full-back puts in a powerful cross which is put behind by Chico.
Good chance for Sterling, but his shot is tame. Suarez beat Chico on the edge of the area only for the ball to be intercepted by Rangel. However, the Spaniard passes it straight to Sterling who shoots from 15 yards out, but he hits it into the ground and Tremmel collects.
First involvement of the afternoon for Raheem Sterling as he speeds past Davies and crosses to the back post, but Rangel heads it out. Not very well, mind, but it is eventually cleared.
Good play by Leon Britton as he receives a pass then spins away from Henderson before playing a pass in for Shechter, but Skrtel boots it out for a throw-in.
The corner does not come to anything as Liverpool clear the corner with ease.
Swansea have themselves a corner after almost completing a nicely worked bit of play. Rangel found a clever pass in behind Downing for Pablo and just when the winger crossed, back came Downing to put it behind.
Liverpool having a fair amount of the possession early on. The left-sided partnership of Enrique and Downing already involved.
Liverpool get the action started in Wales.
For Liverpool, Pepe Reina is back between the posts, while there is an unfamiliar look to the defence. Stewart Downing looks set to start on the left, with Jose Enrique positioned in a more advanced role. Jordan Henderson gets a rare start too in the midfield, while Joe Allen makes his first return to the Liberty Stadium, like his manager Brendan Rodgers.
In goal for Swansea Gerhard Tremmel is starting in place of the injured Michel Vorm, while Pablo Hernandez continues his starting role in the team, leaving Nathan Dyer on the bench once again. Up front Itay Shechter comes in as Danny Graham missed out due to illness.
