Sunderland - Chelsea Preview: Unbeaten Blues Look To Add To Steve Bruce's Woes At The Stadium Of Light

Andre Villas-Boas' side will be aiming for their seventh consecutive win on Wearside as the hosts will be out to improve on their poor home form in 2011

Gardner, Cattermole, Colback, Larsson Sessegnon
Gyan

CHELSEA

Cech
Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole

John O’Shea is expected to be ruled out for Sunderland so Phil Bardsley will shift from left to right-back, with Kieran Richardson filling in on the left – Jack Colback can also play there if Steve Bruce requires him to. Titus Bramble comes into the starting line-up for the first time this season, replacing Anton Ferdinand, who was sold to QPR on deadline day. New signing Nicklas Bendtner will start from the bench despite his impressive form for Denmark in the international break, with Bruce sticking with Asamoah Gyan and Stephane Sessegnon playing just off the Ghanaian.

Didier Drogba is out of this game as he still recovers from a concussion sustained in the 3-1 victory over Norwich. However, Andre Villas-Boas can welcome back Petr Cech, who’s been out since the first game of the season, and David Luiz, who will likely start from the bench as he’s played so little football recently. Deadline day signing Raul Meireles will most likely start on the bench with Chelsea sticking with the same midfield that beat the Canaries. Juan Mata will likely join Florent Malouda and Fernando Torres in attack.
