  • This is all I, Ayush Srivastava have from the Halchowk stadium. Join me in an hour for Maldives versus Bhutan from the Dashrath Rangshala stadium. I gotta dash for a taxi!Do tweet your thoughts on the game to @ayush_sri
  • It was not a great performance by any measure by Afghanistan, but in the end their quality shone through. A freakish goal from a corner was added to by a great goal by Amiri before Hashmatullah rounded off the scoring.
  • 90' + 3'
FT! Afghanistan register a vital win, but it was not easy. The Lankans gave a good account of themselves.
  • 90' + 1'
Sri Lanka make one last attempt to go forward, ut they just don't have that quality to cut past an organised Afghanistan defense
  • 89'
Hafifie with a pile driver  from the edge of the box which the keeper does well to parry. Hashmatullah follows up, but he is offside.
  • 87'
    Goal Hashmatullah Barikzai
GOAL!! This was bound to happen. With Sri Lanka on attack mode, Afghanistan cut in easily, a long punt falling for Hashmatullah, who rounds the keeper and taps the ball home. The Lions of Khorasan have probably sealed the tie, but it has not been easy.
  • 85'
Substitution Tuwan Rizvi Tuwan Rizni Chathura Gunaratne
  • 83'
Sri Lanka now trying pushing forward for a goal, but with Afghanistan now not pushing men forward, the avenue for counter-attacks is closed.
  • 80'
Afghanistan now dominating the game, having a flurry of corners. They seem comfortable now.
  • 76'
    Goal Haroon Fakhruddin
And just as I ask! Amiri rifles a shot in from well outside the box beating the keeper all ends up! Nobody saw that coming! What a cracker!
  • 74'
Farzad Ghulam gets a free header from a corner this time, but he too fails to direct his header goalwards.WHich team do you think is likely to come up with the winner here? Tweet to @ayush_sri
  • 71'
    Substitution Sandjar Ahmadi Hashmatullah Barikzai
  • 71'
Hashmatullah heads wide from Azadzoy's cross after a corner fell nicely for him.
  • 70'
Substitution Nipuna Dewinda Bandara Liyana Arachchilage S. Sameera Perera
  • 68'
Afghanistan break down the left with Jamhour's pace. the winger though is too selfish as he goes for goal, when he should have squared the ball. The keeper collects his shot easily.
  • 65'
Substitution Mohamed Nazrullah Fazaluzzaman Mohamed Nilam Mohamed Nafeer
  • 65'
Sri Lanka now suddenly go more in attack. One hopes they don't crumble over here
  • 62'
    Goal Mohammad Rafi
GOAL!!! Afghanistan equalize as Mohd. Rafi's corner goes straight in! What a bizarre equalizer but the Lions of Khorasan will take it! Have to feel for Lankans. The Ball just drifted over the keeper and went in!
  • 60'
All the players except Afghanistan's keeper now in Sri Lankan half. A good cross by Azadzoy just evades Walizada and goes out for a throw-in
  • 56'
    Substitution Balal Arezou Sidiq Walizada
  • 56'
    Yellow Card Tharindu Eranga
  • 56'
Sanjeeva now with a snapshot from the edge of the box that  stings Fagiryar's palms.  Suddenly Sri Lanka believe they can win here!
  • 53'
    Yellow Card Mohamed Sameer
  • 53'
    Penalty save Weerasinghe Sujan
WHAT DRAMA! First Sri Lanka concede a poor penalty due to Sameer's handball. However Arezou's effort is saved by Perera, who dives to his right and claws the ball away!
  • 51'
    Yellow Card Ahmad Hatifie
  • 49'
What a goal line save by Mohd. Sameer! A cross by Azadzoy reaches Jamour, who hits the ball well on the first attempt and it seems destined to ripple the net, but Sameer reads the situation well and is nicely placed on the line to clear.
  • 46'
    Substitution Yusef Mashriqi Mohammad Rafi
  • 46'
And we are underway in second half. Straight away Afghanistan go on the attack.Maybe they heard Shareef's pleas, who tweets that Afghanistan need to apply more pressure.
  • What changes do you think Afghanistan should make? Tweet your thoughts to me on @ayush_sri
  • Afghanistan definitely need to make some changes, if they are to get back in this tie. A loss would be considered a debacle against the Lankans, who looked so out of their depth against Maldives.
  • 45' + 2'
And the referee blows for half-time. Quite a tame half for the Afghanistan faithful. Everyone came here expecting a thrashing but the Lankans seem very motivated and Afghanistan a bit shell shocked.
  • 45'
Afghanistan trying to find Arezou with a ball over the top but its just not happening for them here.Meanwhile Kaushal tweets, "srilanka leading by one goal!! does it means that maldives are the stongest side in this group!! eager to watch afgan vs maldives."Do you agree with him? Tweet to @ayush_sri
  • 42'
A chance for each side,as first Madhushan de Silva breaks through on a counter but fluffs his finish. On the other end, a long ball falls kindly to Azadzoy, but his well struck shot is deflected just wide of the goal.
  • 41'
    Yellow Card Chathuranga Sanjeewa
  • 39'
Another call for handball by Afghanistan. this time a Amiri freekick falls to Ahmadi, who tries to turn and shoot, but is blocked by Tharaka, possibly with the help of his hand.
  • 36'
    Goal Mohamed Nazrullah Fazaluzzaman
GOAL!!! And you won't believe it is Sri Lanka who scored. Classic counter attack sees Mohd Fazal burst through and he has the composure to chip the keeper and score. Do we have an upset on the cards?
  • 34'
Afghanistan getting frustrated, as they enjoy good possession, but Lanks seem to be far more organised today.
  • 31'
Jamhour cries out for a penalty as the ball seems to come off a Sri Lankan player's hand. However referee waves play on.
  • 27'
Madhusan de Silva tried testing Fagiryar with a freekick. But its a tame effort, easily gathered by the keeper.
  • 27'
Madhusan de Silva tried testing Fagiryar with a freekick. But its a tame effort, easily gathered by the keeper.
  • 24'
Eranga with a snap shot from wide left, trying to find Afghanistan's keeper off his line. However Fagiryar recovers to get back.
  • 21'
Jamhour races down the left wing, and puts in a cross which is cleared at the near post.
  • 18'
A bit of a midfield battle here. No real tempo. With just a day's gap between matches, its always difficult to keep those energy levels high.
  • 15'
Some very naive play by Sri Lanka there. The ball was going out for a corner, until Mohd. Fazal decided to intervene, and his attempted volley from an impossible angle barely hit his calf and went out for a goal-kick.
  • 12'
Sri Lanka win a freeick in advanced territory but are wasteful yet again, and allow Afghanistan to hit them on the counter.
  • 9'
Sanjar Ahmadi should have done better there as well. Good all by Mustafa Hadid, but the forward just does not connect well. He has his head in his hands now!
  • 7'
Jamhour goes close! To be honest he should have done better there. A ball into the box and Bandara  and Tharaka fail to deal with in, with Arezou sniffing for the chance. The ball falls kindly to Jamhour, but he lacks composure and fires over.
  • 4'
Afghanistan try to build pressure from the start but Sri Lanka break well on the counter but the eventual cross by Eranga is poor.
  • 1'
Afghanistan are kicking us off here, and instantly go on the attack. However Sanjar Ahmadi's long-distance effort is easily gathered by Sujan Perera
