The Red and Gold would like to overturn the first leg defeat while Derrick Pereira's men are looking to return to winning ways...
Salgaocar have struggled with their form of late. From leading the table at one stage to sinking to sixth in the standings, the Green and Whites' coach, Derrick Pereira has acknowledged the need of a win and has a full strength squad to choose from for Wednesday's encounter.
"We are our usual self, except that the results have not gone in our favour. Some lapses in defense got us punished and going forward we are creating chances but we need to be sharper and clinical in our finishing," he said.
On facing the former Dempo SC coach, Pereira commented, "Armando [Colaco] knows how Salgaocar works and he knows most of the [Salgaocar] players, but he just joined East Bengal and it may take some time."
Meanwhile, East Bengal have 14 points from 9 outings (three less than Salgaocar who are on 17 points from 12 matches) and will be looking to make the best of their matches in hand to rise from eighth spot. With James Moga back from an emergency trip to his home country, the striker will no doubt bolster Colaco's attacking options up front.
"No suspensions, but there are many injuries. Mehtab [Hossain] will not be there, Uga [Okpara] is not there, but others are there. So I hope we play well," said Armando Colaco.
He also went on to add, "I am not giving special attention to anyone. For me, there are no strong and weak teams in the I-League. Salgaocar will have the home advantage. Our team is doing well and I expect a close and thrilling contest.”
