The winners of the second division league will hope to put in a commanding performance in front of their fans...Rangdajied United will seek to end their poor run of form when they host Salgaocar FC on Tuesday.
The north eastern outfit have drawn two and lost one in their three games at home this season. Eugeneson Lyngdoh and Restom Khriam are unavailable for the tie due to injuries. Abocha Singh, Ambilstar Sunn and Pratik Chaudhari will also be missing in action.
Santosh Kashyap's outfit have struggled this season and have scored the least number of goals (3) in the season. They also have the worst defensive record having conceded 15 goals, six of them at home.
The good news for them is that Yohei Iwasaki returns from an injury and is available for selection. He could slot into the central midfield alongside Bansarai Sunn.
Edmar Figueira and Lamine Tamba would square up against their former coach in Derrick Pereira.
It must also be noted that Kashyap served as the U-19 coach of Mahindra United when Pereira coached the senior side.
"Time changes and people change and you never know what to expect. I know how Edmar and Kashyap prefer to play but according to the situation, they keep changing," said Derrick Pereira.
He added that his side aren't aware of Rangdajied's qualities and as a result, they would start on a caution.
"We will have to wait and see how they play and accordingly, adjust," Pereira said.
Darryl Duffy is down with flu and despite having trained with the side, he remains a doubtful starter.
Kashyap praised Salgaocar for their consistent performances this season under new coach Derrick Pereira.
"Derrick is an experienced coach and the results are an evidence of the same. Salgaocar are a top team and we have to be at our best to get a result. We do have injuries but hopefully we would give a good account and get our first three points at home," said Kashyap.
