Rangdajied United - Mumbai FC: The newcomers look for consistency against in-form travellers

The Shillong side will be trying to continue their form from the last match when they notched up their first home win, but it will not be easy against an experienced Mumbai side.

Rangdajied United, who are still fresh from notching up their first ever home victory in the I-League will be facing an experienced Mumbai FC outfit in an I-League match in Shillong on Sunday afternoon.

After a dismal start to the season, Rangdajied had been strengthened by the inclusion of a number of veterans in the squad from the IMG-Reliance players pool and have started to reap the rewards. In the last match, they put on a brilliant display of character as they scored two goals in injury time to get the better of Pune FC. Only a couple of weeks ago, they impressively defeated Mohun Bagan as well.

Coach Santosh Kashyap also sounded confident in the pre-match press conference, but also stressed that Mumbai FC have been performing well recently. He confessed that he is yet to take a decision about final 18, let alone the starting line-up.

"The team is in good shape and all the foreigners are fit and the best part, they are raring to go. But Mumbai FC is also a good team and they are in good form. So it will be a tough match again, but I am confident. Honestly, I haven't take the call yet. Munmun is also playing well and I will have to sit down and talk with my staff to figure out the 18 member squad and then the first eleven," Kashyap told the press before the match.

Talking about the away side, Mumbai FC will be aiming to extend their recent run of form, having gathered 7 points from the last three matches. Anwar Ali, who limped off in the last match against Mohun Bagan, will be unavailable in the fixture with a hamstring injury.

However, except for Anwar, Khalid Jamil will have a full sqaud at his disposal and much will depend upon the trio of Yusif Yakubu, N.P. Pradeep and Mohammed Rafi, who have chipped in with 5 goals in the last three matches.

The two teams have already faced each other once in this year's league, with the fixture ending in a 1-1 score-line. It now remains to be seen whether the Shillong side can secure back-to-back victories on their home turf.
