Abdul Aziz Moshood's side have broken their losing streak to pick up their first victory in four matches after beating Rangdajied United on Sunday

Mohammedan Sporting Club trounced Rangdajied United FC 3-0 in a round five match of the I-League 2013-14 at the J.N. stadium in Meghalaya.

All three goals came in the first half of play with Tolgay Ozbey (7'), Jerry Zirsanga (18') and Josimar Mendes da Silva (41') finding the back of the net for the visitors.

Both coaches made a host of changes to their starting line-ups. The home team's injured skipper Eugeneson was replaced by Bhola Prasad while newly registered Shin Hojun came in place of Sandesh Gadkari. Edmar Figueira meanwhile was fielded ahead of T. Lalnunpuia.

Santosh Kashyap's side suffered the early set-back when Tolgay Ozbey blasted in a powerful right footed shot from just inside the box to give Mohammedan the lead. The hosts responded almost instantaneously but Shin's 30-yard scorcher narrowly missed the far corner.

Figueira was brilliantly denied by the away side's goalkeeper Ashok Singh in the following minutes as Rangdajied looked for an equaliser. However, Mohammedan had their own game plan wherein Jerry Zirsanga made the best of a melee in the box to double his side's lead.

Rangdajied didn't lose hope as Figueira and Shin often managed to breach the opposition's defence but ended up with Ashok Singh resisting their efforts. Against the run of play, Josimar gave the Kolkata outfit a three-goal cushion heading into the break.

Mohammedan were not able to convert their opportunities in the second half, while Rangdajied also failed to find the back of the net.

The introduction of T. Lalnunpuia, who paired up with Shin, looked to bring a ray of hope for the home crowd as the striker managed to create a few more chances but lacked the finishing touch. However, the Korean was unlucky to hit the far post in one occasion. Elam Abocha also had his shot brilliantly saved by the Mohammedan custodian.

The defeat brought an end to the unbeaten home run of Rangdajied United FC who are tied on two points with Mohun Bagan at the bottom of the table, while Mohammedan Sporting lay a point above.
