The newbies of the league will try to build on their recent good performances when they face the Kolkata outfit...Rangdajied United will host Mohammedan Sporting in an I-League round five encounter in at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at Shillong on Sunday.
Both the teams have been unable to notch up their first win in the league and will be looking forward to bag three points from the match.
In the last two matches, Rangdajied has done well to pick up a point against the likes of Dempo and Churchill Brothers and will like to carry forward the kind of form they have shown into the game. Skipper Eugeneson Lyngdoh netted one against the Red Machines in the last game, and will be one of the pivotal parts of the Blues’ attack on Sunday. David Nghaite has been a revelation in this edition of the league and his runs down the left flank will surely help his team invade the travelling defense.
Santosh Kashyap, the coach of Rangdajied, will have to make the final call whether to tinker his line-up and bring in Edmar Figueira, or give Sandesh Gadkari another chance, especially after the Indian striker scored in the last game.
"After two and a half months work, we have risen to the I-League level. Boys are implementing what I have been instructing and it's a good sign. We will definitely go for the win," he said.
Speaking of the visitors, it has been a nightmarish start for them till now. The team has played three matches, but have not been able to win a point. Luciano Sobrosa's injury has hurt them bad while Penn Orji is from his best as he is recovering from an injury. With Tolgay Ozbey misfiring, the team is heavily dependent on Josimar Martins upfront.
But, this may be a turing point for the Black and Whites as they face one of the most inexperienced sides in the league, though the home crowd will certainly play the role of the 12th man against them.
