Had no chance with Ben Arfa’s early spot-kick and completely made a mess of his clearance for Newcastle’s second goal.
An unforgettable performance - but for all the wrong reasons. Was booed by the home fans every time he touched the ball and was hauled off at half-time by Harry Redknapp. By then he had conceded a penalty and provided a shocking back-pass to Green for Newcastle’s second goal. This was a truly awful performance from the Portuguese full-back.
Coped well when under pressure from the Newcastle forwards.
QPR fans' player of the year was at his hard-working best and was applauded by supporters throughout for his efforts.
Made a great run early on and was solid at the back in keeping Ben Arfa in check for the most part. Raided down the left at will during the first half but gave away an indirect free kick in the second with a poorly disguised back-pass.
Was instrumental from the off, twisting and turning his way past Newcastle defenders at will.
A disciplined performance from the midfielder, though he failed to make a notable impact and remained largely anonymous throughout.
Was overly aggressive at times – sometimes when the ball not even anywhere near him. Did make several incisive passes but was taken off at half-time.
Showed no hesitation whatsoever in calmly converting QPR’s first-half spot kick but was given little in the way of service thereafter.
Was eager to get involved early on but still looks as though he is finding his feet this season.
Won the early penalty but there was a hint of simulation to it. Made more good runs throughout the 90 minutes and almost grabbed an equaliser for QPR on the hour mark.
Was helpless to stop Remy’s clinical early penalty but made a superb save on the half-hour mark. Also impressed with his punching during corners but was sent off after picking up the ball with his hands outside of the penalty area.
Coped well in what was a vital game in his side’s battle against relegation.
Made an important early clearance and did not put a foot wrong in the first half.
Was a rock in defence, fighting for every ball and impressing with his aerial duels and robust tackling.
Committed an early foul only to then give away a penalty shortly after in what seemed like an attempt to impersonate Bosingwa at the other end.
Almost equalised early on but found himself on the floor after a soft challenge far too often. Took the odd shot from range but could not trouble Green.
Was relatively uninvolved apart from the odd clash of heads and made way for James Perch early in the second half.
Gave the ball away early on and had to come off for treatment after a clash with Jenas. Put a good shift in thereafter, however, going forward and showing a fearlessness with his strikes from distance.
H. Ben Arfa
Smashed his first-half penalty right into the top corner to give Green absolutely no chance. Showed good feet from thereon in but there is definitely more to come from the Frenchman as he gets used to life after a truly excruciating injury. Made way for Harper late on.
Fought the impressive Traore for every ball down the right and came out of that particular battle with a superb cross on several occasions. Kept his cool to slot into an empty net on 35 minutes.
Rose well to put the ball in the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes but was unlucky to have it disallowed.
